Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang mendapatkan perlakuan metode pembelajaran discovery learning dan problem solving pada mata pelajaran ekonomi di kelas X IPS SMAN 2 Lembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPS 1 yang berjumlah 33 orang dan kelas X IPS 2 yang berjumlah 36 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitin ini menunjukkan bahwa 1). Terdapat perbedaan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode discovery learning. 2). Terdapat perbedaan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode problem solving. 3). Terdapat perbedaan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas yang menggunakan metode discovery learning dengan kelas yang menggunakan problem solving. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode problem solving lebih efektif dari metode discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Kata Kunci: Discovery Learning, Problem Solving, Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis This study aims to analyze the application of students' critical thinking skills that are treated with discovery learning and problem solving learning methods in economic subjects in class X IPS SMAN 2 Lembang. The research method used is quasi-experimental. The sample in this study were students of class X IPS 1, amounting to 33 people and class X IPS 2 totaling 36 people. Based on the results of this study indicate that 1). There are differences in students' critical thinking before and after using discovery learning methods. 2). There are differences in students' critical thinking before and after using the problem solving method. 3). There are differences in students' critical thinking between classes that use discovery learning methods and classes that use problem solving. From this study it can be concluded that the problem solving method is more effective than the discovery learning method in increasing students' critical thinking skills.
