Abstract

Teknik piano iringan merupakan salah satu kemampuan utama yang harus dimiliki setiap pemain piano. Bahan ajar yang baik merupakan faktor utama sebagai pendukung kemampuan siswa untuk menguasai teknik piano iringan. Permasalahan utama penelitian ini tidak adanya bahan ajar yang relevan dalam proses pembelajaran piano iringan di YMS Cirebon, bahan ajar terdahulu yang digunakan lebih fokus kepada permainan solo piano. Metode Design Based Research digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan inovasi konsep dan rancangan Etude Piano Iringan Pop. Penelitian ini menemukan konsep etude piano iringan yang dikembangkan dari karya Ron Drotos dan Gordon. Etude piano iringan dikembangkan ke dalam 16 nomor etude. Sebagai inovasi, beberapa nomor etude dilengkapi dengan notasi melodi lagu pop yang harus dimainkan oleh guru untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam berlatih piano iringan. Konsep tersebut merupakan pengembangan dari konsep etude piano Alfred Piano Book 1A sehingga etude yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti digunakan siswa memainkan iringan dan guru memainkan melodi lagu. Inovasi berikutnya, setiap nomor etude dapat diterapkan kepada beberapa lagu pop. Hasil implementasi menunjukan bahwa etude piano iringan yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan, kreativitas dan motivasi siswa dalam memainkan piano iringan. Piano accompaniment technique is one of the main abilities that every piano player must possess. Good teaching materials are a major factor in supporting students’ ability to master accompaniment piano techniques. The main problem in this research is the absence of relevant teaching materials in the accompaniment piano learning process at YMS Cirebon. Previous teaching materials used were more focused on playing piano solos. The Design Based Research method was used in this study to produce concept innovations and design of Pop Accompaniment Etude Piano. This research found a piano accompaniment etude concept developed from the work of Ron Drotos and Gordon. The piano etude accompaniment was developed into 16 etude numbers. As an innovation, some etude numbers are equipped with melodic pop song notation which must be played by the teacher to increase motivation in practicing piano accompaniment. The concept is a development of the Alfred Piano Book 1A piano etude. So in etude that was developed the student researchers played accompaniment and the teacher played the song melody. The next innovation, each etude number can be applied to several pop songs. The implementation results show that the piano accompaniment developed can improve the ability, creativity and motivation of students in playing piano accompaniment.
