Abstract

Anak tunagrahita adalah mereka yang secara signifikan memiliki fungsi intelektual dibawah rata-rata anak pada umumnya yang disertai dengan hambatan perilaku adaptif dan terjadi pada masa perkembangan yaitu sebelum memasuki usia 18 tahun. Namun mereka juga memiliki potensi diluar bidang akademik yang bisa disamakan dengan anak pada umumnya, diantaranya adalah keterampilan menari kreasi. Potensi menari kreasi yang dimiliki anak tuagrahita ringan ini melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Hal ini dikarenakan metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan di sekolah dirasa belum mampu meningkatkan keterampilan menari kreasi yang dimiliki anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan menari kreasi melalui metode explicit instruction pada peserta didik tunagrahita ringan dan juga mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruhnya. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah enam orang siswa. Melalui metode explicit instruction guru dapat mengajarkan tarian dengan pola selangkah demi selangkah sampai siswa dapat mengikuti dan menghafalnya. Hal ini membuat siswa belajar sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design dengan tahapan siswa diberikan pretest kemudian perlakuan setelahnya baru diberikan posttest. Nilai rata-rata pretest siswa adalah 35,64% sedangkan nilai posttest rata-rata anak setelah adanya perlakuan adalah mencapai 88,88% yang artinya terdapat penigkatan sebanyak 53,24% . Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, diketahui nilai signifikansi wilcoxon adalah 0,020<0,050 maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima yaitu, metode explicit instruction memeberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menari kreasi anak tunagrahita ringan di Sekolah Khusus Hasrat Mulia dan diharapkan metode explicit instruction dapat menjadi salah satu metode alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran keterampilan lainnya; Children with intellectual disabilities are those who significantly have intellectual function below the average child in general who are accompanied by barriers to adaptive behavior and occur during development, namely before entering the age of 18 years. But they also have potential outside the academic field that can be compared to children in general, including creations dancing skills. The potential of dancing to the creation of these mild mentally disabled children is the background of this research. This is because the learning method that is applied in schools is not able to improve the dance skills of children's creations. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of creative dance skills through the method of explicit instruction in mild mental retardation students and also to know how much influence. The subjects of this study were six students. Through the method of explicit instruction the teacher can teach dance with a step-by-step pattern until students can follow and memorize it. This makes students learn according to their abilities. This study uses one group pretest-posttest design with the stages of students given a pretest then the treatment afterwards is given a posttest. The average pretest score of students was 35.64% while the average posttest score of children after treatment was 88.88% which means there is an increase of 53,24%. From the results of the research conducted, it is known that Wilcoxon significance value is 0.020 <0.050, so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, that’s the method of explicit instruction gives an influence on improving the dancing skills of the mild mentally disabled children in the Hasrat Mulia Special School with regard to the results of this study, it is expected that the method of explicit instruction can be an alternative method that can be used in other skills learning.
