Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena maraknya kasus seorang pria yang menyimpang dari kodratnya, yakni menjadi seorang gay, atau penyuka sesama jenis, dan mirisnya hal tersebut dialami oleh masyarakat yang masih berumuran remaja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memperoleh informasi tentang bagaimana peran teman sebaya terhadap terbentuknya seseorang menjadi seorang gay di kalangan remaja. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dimana peneliti melakukan metode deskriptif. Pertama, awal mula seseorang menjadi gay ada berbagai macam, yakni karna keinginan diri sendiri, kurangnya perhatian dari orang tua, dan adanya pengaruh dari teman sebaya dan lingkungan. Kedua, peran teman sebaya dalam terbentuknya seseorang menjadi gay sangat berpengaruh cukup kuat, seperti halnya mereka mulai tertarik pada sesama jenisnya dikarenakan adanya ajakan atau dorongan dari teman sebayanya yang memiliki jati diri sebagai seorang gay. Ada juga yang tertarik menjadi seorang gay karena semata-mata hanya mencari keisengan belaka dan sekedar coba-coba karena melihat temannya yang adalah seorang gay. Ketiga, interaksi pertemanan kaum gay bersama teman-teman sebayanya baik yang heteroseksual maupun sesama gay sangatlah baik, mereka dapat memposisikan diri saat sedang bergaul atau malah terbuka dengan teman-teman heteroseksualnya. Keempat, peran orang tua dalam memperhatikan pergaulan anaknya pun sangat berpengaruh. Tentang tanggapan dari beberapa orang tua yang peneliti temui ada seorang ibu yang mengetahui bahwa anaknya adalah seorang gay, pada awalnya beliau merasa terpukul, tapi seiringnya waktu beliau mulai dapat menerima keadaan bahwa anaknya memiliki jati diri sebagai seorang gay. This research was conducted because of the rise of the case of a man who deviates from his nature, namely being a gay, or same-sex lover, and sadly this is experienced by people who are still teenagers. The purpose of this study is to find out and obtain information about how the role of peers in the formation of a person becomes a gay among adolescents. In this study researchers used a qualitative approach, where researchers conducted descriptive methods. First, the beginnings of someone becoming gay have various kinds, namely because of their own desires, lack of attention from parents, and the influence of peers and the environment. Second, the role of peers in the formation of someone to become gay is very influential quite strong, just as they begin to be attracted to same-sex because of the invitation or encouragement from their peers who have identity as a gay. There are also those who are interested in being gay because they are solely looking for sheer pranks and just trying because they see a friend who is gay. Third, the interaction of gay friends with their peers, both heterosexual and gay, is very good, they can position themselves when they are hanging out or even open to their heterosexual friends. Fourth, the role of parents in paying attention to their children's relationships is very influential. Regarding the responses of some parents, the researchers found that there was a mother who knew that her child was gay, at first he felt devastated, but over time he began to be able to accept the situation that his son was a gay person.
