Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang profilpelepasan KCl dari larutannya ke dalam media aqua-DM melalui membran hidrogel PVA-GA-MPB. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan karakteristik membran hidrogel, kondisi pencucian membran hidrogel, dan profil pelepasan KCl melalui membran hidrogel PVA-GA dan PVA-GA-MPB. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan (1) sintesis dan karakterisasi membran hidrogel; (2) pencucian membran hidrogel; dan (3) uji profil pelepasan KCl melalui membran hidrogel. Tahap sintesis dilakukan dengan mereaksikan sediaan PVA, GA dalam perbandingan volume 1:1, dan PVA, GA, dan MPB dalam perbandingan volume 1:1:1, yang selanjutnya dicetak dan dikeringkan. Pencucian membran menggunakan aqua-DM dengan volume 500 mL, 1000 mL, dan 1500 mL. Morfologi membran hidrogel ditentukan dengan SEM dan karakterisasi gugus fungsi dengan FTIR. Uji pelepasan KCl dilakukan dengan menempatkan 2 mL larutan KCl, yang terpisahkan oleh membran hidrogel dalam alat uji desorpsi. Membran hidrogel yang sudah disintesis dan dikeringkan berbentuk lembaran dengan ketebalan ±0.1000 mm. Analisis SEM menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar volume pencuci, membran semakin bersih, yang juga diindikasikan oleh nilai pH dan konduktivitas media pencuci. Hasil pengujian FTIR mengindikasi terjadi ikat-silang pada hidrogel PVA-GA, sementara itu penambahan MPB hanya terinkorporasi secara fisikawi.Uji pelepasan KCl menunjukkan bahwa membran hidrogel yang dicuci dengan 1500 mL memiliki kemampuan pelepasan KCl paling rendah, baik pada membran hidrogel PVA-GA maupun PVA-GA-MPB. Pelepasan KCl memiliki profil kesetimbangan yang lebih cepat dan dalam persentase pelepasan yang lebih besar saat melalui membran PVA-GA-MPB dibandingkan melalui membran PVA-GA. The research was focused on the release profile of KCl into aqua-DM media through a PVA-GA-MPB membrane. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of hydrogel membranes, hydrogel membrane washing conditions, and KCl release profile through PVA-GA and PVA-GA-MPB membranes. The work was mainly on (1) synthesis and characterization of hydrogel membranes; (2) washing ofhydrogel membranes; and (3) KCl release profile test through hydrogel membranes. The synthesis phase was carried out by reacting PVA and GA in volume ratio 1: 1, and PVA, GA, and MPB in a volume ratio of 1: 1: 1. Formed membraneswere washedin varieous volume of Aqua-DM, ie 500 mL, 1000 mL and 1500 mL. The morphology of hydrogel membrane was determined by SEM and the structural functional groups was characterized with FTIR instrument. The KCl release test was carried out by placing 2 mL of KCl solution in the desorption tet devices, where the hydrogel membrane applied to separate the KCl solution and its bulk media. The dryed membrane, which is in the form of sheets, has the thickness of ± 0.1000 mm. SEM analysis shows that the larger the washing volume, the cleaner the membrane. FTIR test results indicate the existence of cross-linking in PVA-GA hydrogels, meanwhile the addition of MPB into its batter produced no chemical reaction but only physically incorporation between PVA-GA framework and MPB polymer. The KClrelease test shows that the hydrogel membrane washed with volume 1500 mL had the lowest KCl release profile, both in the PVA-GA and PVA-GA-MPB hydrogel membranes. Compared to PVA-GA membrane, PVA-GA-MPB membrane gavea faster equilibrium profile and a greater percentage of release whenKCl was desorpted from its solution into aq-DM bulk.
