Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Peningkatan Green Behavior Siswa Melalui Pemanfaatan Sampah Berbasis Metode Project Based Learning” (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di SMP Negeri 27 bandung kelas VIII-B). Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan dilapangan, yaitu kurangnya kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan atau yang dikenal dengan green behavior. Hal tersebut tercermin dari perilaku siswa yang tidak peduli dengan kebersihan lingkungan kelas, seperti halnya masih terdapat sampah dibawah kolong meja siswa, sampah yang berserakan di dekat tempat sampah dan sampah yang ada merupakan sampah plastik yang tidak ramah lingkungan karena sulit untuk terurai. Oleh karena itu diperlukan peningkatan green behavior bagi siswa agar hal tersebut dapat diminimalisir, upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka perlu adanya pembelajaran IPS yang menarik, menjadikan siswa aktif serta dapat meningkatkan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan. Penggunaan metode project Based Learning dengan memanfaatkan sampah yang ada pada pembelajaran IPS dirasa dapat dijadikan sebagai solusi dalam meningkatkan Green behavior siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas model dengan desain penelitian Lewin menurut Elliot dimana dalam setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tiga tindakan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Setelah penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus dan sembilan kali tindakan maka tujuan yang diharapkan dapat tercapai, dimana siswa mengalami peningkatan green behavior dengan tiga proyek berbeda yaitu puppet show, poster dan flipchart berbasis sampah. This skripsi titled “Improvement Student’s Green Behavior Through the Use Waste With Project Based Learning Method on Social Studies (Classroom Action Research in SMP Negeri 27 Bandung Class VIII-B). This research was motivated by the problems found in school, that is lacked of student awareness of the environment, known as green behavior. This is reflected in the behavior of students who do not care about class cleanliness, as well as the waste there is still a under the table, waste scattered near a dumpster and waste there was plastic which is not environmentally friendly because it is difficult to unravel. Therefore, it is necessary to improve green behavior for the students so that it can be minimized, efforts should be made to solve it is necessary to social studies attractive learning, makes the students active and can increase awareness about the environment. The use of project based learning method by utilizing waste on social studies learning perceived can be used to as a solution in improving student’s green behavior. This research was conducted using classroom action research methods and models research design Lewin according to Elliot where in each cycle consists of three acts. Data collection techniques in this research used, observation, field notes, interview and documentation. After research conducted in three cycles and nine times the action then the desired objectives can be achieved, where the green behavior of students has increased by three different projects that puppet show, posters and flipchart based the waste.
