Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang persepsi siswa terhadap Buku Teks IPS Kelas VIII Kurikulum 2013 Edisi Revisi 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi siswa terhadap: (1) isi/materi, (2) bahasa, (3) penyajian, dan (4) penampilan pada Buku Teks IPS Kelas VIII Kurikulum 2013 Edisi Revisi 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Adapun survei yang dimaksud adalah survei deskriptif. Terdapat dua variabel dalam penelitian ini diantaranya variabel persepsi siswa sebagai variabel bebas dan variabel Buku Teks IPS Kelas VIII Kurikulum 2013 Edisi Revisi 2017 sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang bersekolah di SMPN Kota Bandung. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel probabilitas berstratifikasi. Dari 61 SMPN di Kota Bandung, dipilih 6 sekolah yang masing-masing 2 sekolahnya diantaranya terdiri dari sekolah terkategori baik, sekolah terkategori cukup dan sekolah terkategori kurang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif melalui perhitungan central tendency dan pengukuran variability. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap buku teks IPS Kelas VIII Kurikulum 2013 Edisi Revisi 2017 secara keseluruhan sudah tergolong baik. Pada indikator isi materi, sebanyak 76% responden setuju, 23% responden ragu-ragu, dan 1% responden tidak setuju. Pada indikator kebahasaan, sebanyak 67% responden setuju, 26% responden ragu-ragu, dan 7% responden tidak setuju. Pada indikator penyajian, sebanyak 81% responden setuju, 18% responden ragu-ragu, dan 1% responden tidak setuju. Pada indikator penampilan, sebanyak 71% responden setuju, 22% responden ragu-ragu, dan 7% responden tidak setuju. This study examines students' perceptions of 8th Grade Social Studies Textbooks in Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2017. This is a quantitative research with survey method. The survey is a descriptive survey. There are two variables, including the students’ perception as independent variable and the 8th Grade Social Studies Textbook in Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2017 as dependent variable. The population were all eighth grade students who attended Bandung public middle school. Sampling was carried out using stratified probability sampling. From 61 high schools, 6 schools were selected. Each of which consists 2 of good categorized schools, sufficient categorized schools and less categorized schools. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis using descriptive analysis through calculation of central tendency and measurement of variability. The data obtained were processed using the SPSS program. The results showed that students' perceptions of 8th Grade Social Studies Textbooks Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition 2017 are already good. On the material/content indicator, 76% of respondents agreed, 23% of respondents doubted, and 1% of respondents disagreed. On the language indicators, 67% of respondents agreed, 26% of respondents doubted, and 7% of respondents disagreed. In the presentation indicator, 81% of respondents agreed, 18% of respondents doubted, and 1% of respondents disagreed.
