Abstract

Aplikasi Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dalam sektor pendidikan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sistem pendukung dalam pemecahan masalah yang berkaitan dengan aspek sosial-geografis. Kemampuan perangkat SIG dalam memadukan berbagai data numerik dengan data spasial menghasilkan output berupa peta yang dapat dikustomisasi sesuai kebutuhan dan masalah yang dihadapi. Karakteristik Sistem Informasi Geografis tersebut sesuai dengan masalah yang kerap dihadapi oleh wilayah berkembang seperti seperti pemerataan layanan pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan pemetaan sekolah, untuk menganalisis sebaran sekolah serta untuk menghitung kebutuhan layanan pendidikan SD dan SMP di Kecamatan Dramaga Kabupaten Bogor. Tahapan penelitian adalah pengumpulan data, integrasi data dalam perangkat SIG, pemetaan sekolah dan analisis data. Perangkat khusus yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah alat GPS (Global Positioning System) dan perangkat lunak ArcView GIS 3.3. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, diketahui terdapat 48 sekolah di Kecamatan Dramaga yang terdiri dari 38 SD/MI dan 10 SMP/MTs. Adapun temuan penelitian ini adalah : a) Sebaran sekolah SD telah merata di wilayah Kecamatan Dramaga, namun jumlahnya belum sesuai dengan aturan Standar Nasional Pendidikan, sehingga diperlukan pembangunan 20 sekolah dasar baru; b) Sebaran sekolah SMP di Kecamatan Dramaga belum merata, sehingga pembangunan sekolah baru di Desa Petir, Ciherang dan Sukadamai sangat direkomendasikan; c) Pembangunan 152 ruang kelas baru SD dan 14 ruang kelas SMP diperlukan untuk menutup gap antara kebutuhan dengan kondisi existing:---Geographic Information System (GIS) application in education sector can be used as supporting system in decision making or problem solving which relate to its social-geographic matters. The ability to integrate various data both numerical and spatial data could generates maps that can be customized according to the needs and spesific problems. The characteristics of the Geographic Information System are appropriate to handle problems which often faced by developing regions such as in-equality distribution of educational services. The purpose of the study are: to generate school maps, to analyze the spatial distribution of schools based on GIS and to calculate the educational demand analysis at elementary and middle school level in Dramaga, Bogor Regency. Stages of this research are including data collection, data integration in GIS software, school mapping and data analysis. Special tools used in this study are GPS (Global Positioning System) and ArcView GIS 3.3 software. Based on the result of the study, it was found that there were 48 schools in Dramaga Subdistrict consisting of 38 SD/MI and 10 SMP/MTs. The Results of study are: a) The distribution of elementary schools has been evenly distributed in the Dramaga Subdistrict area, but the number does not meet with the rules of the National Education Standards, so that 20 new elementary schools are needed to build; b) The distribution of middle schools in Dramaga Subdistrict is not evenly distributed, so that the establishment of new schools in Petir, Ciherang and Sukadamai Villages are highly recommended; c) The construction of 152 new elementary classrooms and 14 middle school classrooms is needed to fill the gap between the needs and existing conditions.
