Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil model mental peserta didik SMA kelas XII di daerah Cianjur pada materi larutan penyangga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik model mental tipe pilihan ganda dua tingkat yang telah valid dan reliabel. Koefisien reliabilitas Cronbach alpha sebesar 0,613. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, subkonsep sifat larutan penyangga pada penambahan sedikit asam atau basa didominasi oleh peserta didik yang telah memahami bagaimana perubahan pH larutan penyangga setelah penambahan sedikit asam atau basa dan pengaruhnya terhadap konsentrasi ion H+ dalam sistem dengan persentase 72%. Untuk subkonsep sifat larutan penyangga dalam tubuh pada penambahan asam didominasi oleh peserta didik yang telah memahami bagaimana perubahan pH larutan penyangga setelah penambahan sedikit asam dengan persentase 33%, sedangkan pada penambahan basa didominasi oleh peserta didik yang belum memahami bagaimana perubahan pH larutan penyangga setelah penambahan sedikit basa dan pengaruhnya terhadap konsentrasi ion H+ dalam sistem dan peserta didik yang telah memahami bagaimana perubahan pH larutan penyangga setelah penambahan sedikit basa dengan persentase keduanya sebesar 47%. Untuk subkonsep sifat larutan penyangga pada penambahan air didominasi oleh peserta didik yang belum memahami bagaimana perubahan pH larutan penyangga setelah penambahan air dan pengaruhnya terhadap konsentrasi ion H+ dalam sistem dengan persentase 75%. Untuk perhitungan pH larutan penyangga yang terdiri dari basa lemah dan asam konjugatnya didominasi oleh peserta didik yang telah mampu menghitung pH larutan penyangga dan konsentrasi komponen larutan penyangga dengan persentase 44%. Sedangkan untuk perhitungan pH larutan penyangga dari asam lemah dan basa konjugatnya serta perhitungan pH setelah penambahan asam atau basa didominasi oleh peserta didik yang belum mampu menghitung pH dan konsentrasi komponen larutan penyangga dengan persentase berturutturut sebesar 75%, 47%, 61% dan 72%. ;---This study aims to determine the mental model of class XII students in Cianjur on the buffer solution. The research was used descriptive method using two tier mental model diagnostic test that had through the validation and reliability testing. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficients for the instruments were found to be 0,613. Based on the results of the study, the subconcept of the nature of the buffer solution on the addition of a little acid or base was dominated by students who had understood how the pH of the buffer solution changed after adding a little acid or base and its effect on the concentration of H + ions in the system with a percentage of 72%. For the subconcepts of the nature of the body buffer solution on the addition of acid was dominated by students who only understood how the pH of the buffer solution after the addition of a little acid with a percentage of 33%, while the addition of base was dominated by students who did not understand how the pH of the buffer solution after thhe addition of a little base and their effect on the concentration of H + ions in the system and students who only understood how the pH of the buffer solution changed after adding a little base with both percentages of 47%. For the subconcept the nature of the buffer solution on the addition of water was dominated by students who did not understand how the pH of the buffer solution changed after adding water and its effect on the concentration of H + ions in the system with a percentage of 75%. For the calculation of pH buffer solution consisting of weak bases and conjugate acid, it was dominated by students who had been able to calculate the pH of the buffer solution and the concentration of the buffer solution component with a percentage of 44%. As for the calculation of the pH of the buffer solution from weak acids and conjugate bases and the calculation of pH after the addition of acids or bases was dominated by students who had not been able to calculate the pH and concentration of the buffer solution components with successive percentages of 75%, 47%, 61% and 72 %.
