Abstract

Beragam jenis tumbuhan yang tumbuh di Indonesia, salah satunya Rafflesia arnoldii. Tumbuhan tersebut merupakan bunga terbesar di dunia dan pertama kali ditemukan di Bengkulu. Rafflesia arnoldii hanya terdiri dari mahkota bunga saja, tidak memiliki akar, batang, dan daun. Karena merupakan tumbuhan parasit yang menempel pada akar pohon inangnya yang merambat. Sehingga untuk memenuhi makanannya Rafflesia menyerap dari jaringan inangnya. Oleh karena itu, bunga yang mengeluarkan bau bangkai ini tidak akan bisa bertahan hidup apabila tumbuhan inangnya mati. Rafflesia arnoldii merupakan salah satu tumbuhan langka yang hampir punah. Diakibatkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti penebangan hutan, kebakaran hutan, ulah manusia yang merusak atau mengambil putik bunga Rafflesia arnoldii, dan lain-lain. Hal tersebut menarik bagi penulis untuk menjadikan Rafflesia arnoldii sebagai objek utama dalam berkarya seni grafis, karena keunikan tumbuhan tersebut dan kelangkaannya yang perlu dilindungi. Yang bertujuan dalam upaya pelestarian melalui apresiasi karya seni. Metode penciptaan yang penulis gunakan yaitu seni grafis cetak tinggi lino cut. Media yang digunakan yaitu tinta cetak (ink printing) di atas kertas. Pengembangan ide dalam penciptaan visualisasi karya seni grafis ini, diciptakan sebanyak lima buah karya yang menggambarkan siklus hidup tumbuhan tersebut, seperti pada saat bunga Rafflesia arnoldii kuncup, mekar, dan membusuk. Dengan background hutan tropis yang sesuai habitat tumbuhan tersebut. Secara keseluruhan kelima karya ini dominan oleh unsur garis yang dihasilkan dari torehan pada linoleum. Terdiri dari multiwarna, umumnya setiap karya berisi ± 10 warna.:---Various types of plants that grow in Indonesia, one of them is Rafflesia arnoldii. The plant is the largest flower in the world and was first discovered in Bengkulu. Rafflesia arnoldii only consists of a flower crown, not having roots, stems, and leaves. Because it is a parasitic plant attached to the roots of the host tree that propagates. So to fulfill the food, Rafflesia absorbs from the host tissue. Therefore, the flower that emits the smell of the carcass will not be able to survive if the host plant dies. Rafflesia arnoldii is one of the rare plants that are almost extinct. Caused by several factors such as deforestation, forest fires, human activities that damage or take the pistil of Rafflesia arnoldii flowers, and others. It is interesting for the writer to make Rafflesia arnoldii as the main object in the work of printmaking, because of the uniqueness of the plant and its scarcity that need to be protected. Which aims at conservation efforts through appreciation of works of art. The method of creation that I use is the printmaking with lino cut techniques. The media used is ink printing on paper. The development of ideas in the creation of visualization of this printmaking work was created as many as five works that illustrate the life cycle of the plant, such as when the Rafflesia arnoldii flower buds, blooms, and decomposes. With tropical forest background that suits the plant habitat. Overall, these five works are dominated by line elements resulting from the incision in the linoleum. Consisting of multi colors, generally each work contains ± 10 colors.
