Abstract

Lack of physical activity carried out by students at home or at school causes low physical fitness, besides low student self-esteem makes students unsure of their self resulting in low physical education learning outcomes, because of this physical activity is implemented through low organisation games in physical education learning . The purpose of this study was to improve the self-esteem and physical fitness of grade V students of SDN 138 Gegerkalong. The research method used in this study is an experimental method, the research design used in this study is pretest-posttest control group design, with a sample of 52 people taken through simple random sampling technique because the sample is considered homogeneous. The instrument used was Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scala (RSES) to measure self-esteem and TKJI to measure physical fitness. Data analysis uses SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 20 IBM for Window. It is known that the t-count for the self-esteem score is 22.311 with probability (Sig.), 000 <0.05 then Ho is rejected. That is, there is a significant difference in students' self-esteem between the experimental class group and the control class group, while for physical fitness it is known that the t-count for physical fitness score is 16.535 with probability (Sig.), 000 <0.05 then Ho is rejected. That is, there are significant differences in students' physical fitness between the experimental class and the control group. Thus the implementation of physical activity through low organisation games in physical education learning can significantly improve students' self-esteem and physical fitness.
