Abstract
Sehingga penelitian ini berfokus pada perkembangan kesenian Kuda Kosong tahun 1998-2011 di Kabupaten Cianjur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai pasang surutnya kesenian Kuda Kosong di Kabupaten Cianjur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode historis yang terdiri dari beberapa langkah yaitu pengumpulan sumber atau heuristik, verifikasi atau kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi atau penulisan sejarah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat di jelaskan bahwa kesenian Kuda Kosong dalam perkembangannya menghadapi berbagai tantangan diantaranya tantangan globalisasi dan modernisasi juga pelarangan oleh MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) pada masa setelah reformasi. Dalam masa pelarangan, para seniman Kuda Kosong melakukan berbagai upaya untuk terus dapat melestarikan kesenian Kuda Kosong dengan melakukan inovasi seperti menciptakan tarian kuda kosong. Kesenian Kuda Kosong Cianjur dapat dipertunjukan kembali di depan masyarakat umum setelah adanya kesepakatan antara pemerintah, seniman/budayawan Kuda Kosong dan MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) untuk melakukan perubahan dalam pertunjukan kesenian Kuda Kosong Cianjur seperti perubahan fungsi sakral dan berbau mistis menjadi hanya sebatas pertunjukan kesenian, atau dihilangkannya prosesi ngalinggihkeun dan ngalungsurkeun. Setelah pelarangan kesenian Kuda Kosong diselenggarakan untuk penghormatan terhadap jasa-jasa Bupati terdahulu di Kabupaten Cianjur. ABSTRACT This research is entitled “Kuda Kosong Art of Cianjur (1998-2011) (Study of Traditional Art in The Global Flow)”. The reason behind this research is the fact that the art of Kuda Kosong in Cianjur District was once banned, then reappeared and the lack of writings or studies on local history, especially about Kuda Kosong in Cianjur District. So this research focuses on the development of Kuda Kosong art in 1998-2011 in Cianjur District. This study aims to obtain information about the ebb and flow of Kuda Kosong art in Cianjur District. This study aims to obtain information about the ebb and flow of the Kuda Kosong art in Cianjur District. The method used in this research is historical method consisting of several steps that includes the collection of the source material, verification or criticism regarding the source of research, interpretation, and historiography or written history. Based on the results of the study it can be explained that the art of Kuda Kosong in its development faced various challenges including the challenges of globalization and modernization as well as the prohibition by the Indonesian Council of religius (MUI) in the post-reform era. During the ban, Kuda Kosong artists made various efforts to continue to be able to preserve the art of Kuda Kosong by making innovations such as creating Kuda Kosong dances. Cianjur Kuda Kosong Art can be performed again in front of the general public after an agreement between the government, artists / culture of the Kuda Kosong and MUI (Indonesian Council of religius) to make changes in the Cianjur Kuda Kosong performance such as changes in sacred functions and mystical smells to be limited to artistic performances, or the elimination of the ngalinggihkeun and ngalungsurkeun processions. After the ban on Kuda Kosong art was held to honor the services of the Regent who has served in Cianjur District.
