Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan kurikulum pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang ada di Echuca College khususnya untuk siswa kelas 7. Penelitian ini membutuhkan materi ajar yang bersinergis dengan kurikulum yang dilaksanakan di kawasan Victoria. Ketersediaan materi ajar yang sangat minim menjadikan faktor utama yang mendasari penelitian ini dilaksanakan. Keterampilan berbahasa yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah membaca disebabkan buku-buku yang tersedia di lembaga tersebut tidak banyak yang menggunakan bahasa Indonesia khususnya untuk siswa kelas 7. Tujuan umum penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar membaca model Rowntree media sebagai bahan ajar membaca untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar. Secara khusus, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hal-hal berikut; 1) profil bahan ajar membaca bahasa Indonesia untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar; 2) desain produk bahan ajar membaca model rowntree sebagai bahan ajar membaca untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar; 3) pengembangan dan implementasi bahan ajar membaca model rowntree sebagai bahan ajar membaca untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar; dan produk akhir bahan ajar membaca model rowntree sebagai bahan ajar membaca untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Metode ini berfokus pada produk yang dikembangkan serta uji efektivitas terhadap produk tersebut. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kebutuhan menurut persepsi literatur dan pengajar BIPA, karakteristik pengembangan produk yaitu sesuai dengan konteks, berorientasi kebutuhan pemelajar, tematik, produktif, menghibur, berkelanjutan, eksplisit, berbasis translasi, terukur, dan variatif. Prototipe produk dikembangkan berdasarkan profil pembelajaran dan analisis kebutuhan pemelajar. Penilaian produk hipotetik dilakukan oleh tiga pakar pembelajaran BIPA, tiga pakar bahan ajar membaca dan tiga pakar ahli grafika. Pengembangan dan implementasi dilakukan dengan cara uji coba produk. Uji coba dilakukan secara skala luas yaitu tiga kelas besar pada siswa kelas 7. Berdasarkan hasil uji validasi ahli dan uji coba kepada siswa dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar membaca model Rowntree layak untuk diimplementasikan. Berdasarkan hasil implementasi, siswa memberikan respons positif terhadap produk bahan ajar membaca model Rowntree.;---This research is motivated by curriculum needs in Indonesian language subjects at Echuca College especially for 7th grade students. This study requires synergistic teaching materials with the curriculum implemented in the Victoria region. The availability of very minimal teaching materials makes the main factors underlying this research carried out. Language skills that are the focus of this research are reading because there are not many books available in the institution that use Indonesian language, especially for 7th grade students. The general purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials for reading Rowntree media as reading teaching materials for BIPA learners basic level. In particular, the purpose of this study was to describe the following; 1) profile of teaching materials for reading Indonesian for basic level BIPA learners; 2) teaching material product design reads the Rowntree model as a reading teaching material for BIPA learners at the basic level; 3) the development and implementation of teaching materials to read the Rowntree model as reading teaching material for basic level BIPA learners; and the final product teaching material reads the Rowntree model as a reading teaching material for BIPA learners at the basic level. The research method used is research and development. This method focuses on products that are developed and test the effectiveness of these products. The results of the study were obtained according to BIPA's literature perception and teaching, product development characteristics that are in accordance with the context, learning needs oriented, thematic, productive, entertaining, sustainable, explicit, translational-based, measurable, and varied. The product prototype was developed based on the learning profile and needs analysis of students. The hypothetical product assessment was carried out by three BIPA learning experts, three reading instructional experts and three graphic experts. Development and implementation are carried out by product testing. The trial was carried out on a large scale, namely three large classes for 7th graders. Based on the results of expert validation tests and trials to students it can be concluded that the teaching material for reading the Rowntree model is feasible. Based on the results of the implementation, students gave a positive response to the teaching material product reading the Rowntree model.
