Abstract

Politeknik Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Tekstil Bandung merupakan satu-satunya sekolah vokasi dalam bidang teknologi tekstil di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, Politeknik STTT Bandung harus mampu menjadi contoh dan panutan untuk sekolah vokasi dalam bidang teknologi tekstil di Indonesia. Pada saat ini, terdapat beberapa permasalahan dalam lahan dan bangunan eksisting Politeknik STTT Bandung. Permasalahan tersebut dimulai dari tidak memenuhinya standar minimal luas lahan untuk Politeknik, kapasitas ruang yang tidak mencukupi kebutuhan, hingga kerusakan pada sarana dan prasarana eksisting. Dari segi desain bangunan pun kurang mampu menjadi image untuk satu-satunya sekolah vokasi dalam teknologi tekstil di Indonesia saat ini. Hal ini yang menjadi alasan dipilihnya pendekatan analogi. Pendekatan analogi fokus pada objek mesin tekstil dibanding produk tekstil, yaitu mesin pintal. Mesin pintal merupakan mesin yang pertama kali digunakan dalam proses perubahan benang menjadi serat. Hal ini dianalogikan juga pada rancangan bangunan Politeknik STTT Bandung yang diharapkan menjadi Politeknik pertama di Indonesia yang mampu menjadi contoh untuk sekolah vokasi dalam bidang teknologi tekstil di Indonesia kedepannya;---College of Textile Technology Polytechnic Bandung (STTT Polytechnic Bandung) is the only vocational college in sector of textile technology in Indonesia. Therefore, STTT Polytechnic Bandung must be able to become a role model for vocational colleges in sector of textile technology. At the moment, there are several problems in the existing location and building of the STTT Polytechnic Bandung. The problem is the land doesn’t meet the standards, capacity that dosen’t meet the needs, damage at facilities and infrastructure. In terms of building design even less able to be an image for the only vocational school in textile technology in Indonesia. This is the reason for choosing the analogy approach. The analogy approach focuses on textile machinery objects rather than textile products. The textile object is spinning machines. The spinning machine is the first machine used in the process of changing yarn into fiber. This is also analogous to the design of the STTT Polytechnic Bandung building which is able to become an example for vocational colleges in sector of textile technology in Indonesia.
