Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas IIIC pada salah satu sekolah dasar negeri. Hal tersebut dikarenakan metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru kurang efektif untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan CTL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian yang dilaksanakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan MC. Taggart yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus dengan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi pada setiap siklusnya. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IIIC yang berjumlah 24 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas IIIC sekolah dasar negeri di kecamatan Cicendo kota Bandung pada bulan Februari – April 2018. Instrumen pengumpul data PTK ini terdiri dari lembar observasi, lembar evaluasi dan catatan lapangan. Teknik pengolahan data kuantitatif menggunakan statistik persentase dan rata-rata, sedangkan data kualitatif diolah menggunakan teknik Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan CTL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas IIIC sekolah dasar negeri di kecamatan Cicendo Bandung.;---This research is motivated by the low ability to understand the concept of class third grade c students in one of the public elementary schools. This is because the learning method applied by the teacher is not effective enough to be able to improve students' ability to understand concepts. This study aims to describe the application of the CTL approach to improve students' ability to understand concepts. The research method carried out is the classroom action research model of Kemmis and MC. Taggart is conducted in two cycles with the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages in each cycle. The research subjects were students of class IIIC totaling 24 people. This research was carried out in class class third grade c public elementary schools in Cicendo sub-district Bandung in February - April 2018. This classroom action research data collection instrument consisted of observation sheets, evaluation sheets and field notes. Quantitative data processing techniques use percentage and average statistics, while qualitative data are processed using Miles and Huberman techniques. The results of the study show that it can be concluded that the application of the CTL approach can improve the ability to understand the concept of class class third grade c students of public elementary schools in Cicendo sub-district, Bandung.
