Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengembangkan multimedia animasi tentang materi Flame Metal Spraying pada mata kuliah Korosi dan Pelapisan Logam, 2) mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman materi antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen terhadap materi Flame Metal Spraying, dan 3) mengetahui respon mahasiswa dalam penggunaan multimedia animasi tentang materi Flame Metal Spraying. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experiment jenis nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa kelas Produksi dan Perancangan Prodi S1 DPTM FPTK UPI angkatan 2017 dengan metode sampling yang dipilih adalah nonprobability sampling jenis sampling jenuh yang berarti semua populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Multimedia animasi yang dihasilkan dibuat dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Construct 2, model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis – Design – Development – Implementation – Evaluation) mendapatkan Validasi multimedia animasi oleh ahli materi terkategori layak (89.41%), hasil validasi oleh ahli media terkategori layak (79.04%). 2) dan respon pengguna terhadap media terkategori sangat baik (85.7%). 3) Peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan menggunakan N-gain pada kelas eksperimen terkategori medium (0.41), sedangkan peningkatan N-gain hasil belajar mahasiswa kelas kontrol terkategori rendah (0.23). Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa multimedia animasi metal flame spraying yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Kata kunci: animasi, Flame Metal Spraying, multimedia. ABSTRACT Fajar Dwi Ramadhani (1306076), Development of Flame Metal Spraying Multimedia Animation. This research is aimed to 1) develop animated multimedia of Flame Metal Spraying in Corrosion and Metal Coating subject; 2) know the improvement of students’ understanding in control and experimental class to Flame Metal Spraying content; and 3) know the response of users to Flame Metal Spraying Multimedia Animation. Research method that is used in this research is quasi experiment for nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research was all students of the Production and Design Study Program S1 of the DPTM FPTK UPI batch of 2017 with the selected sampling method being the nonprobability sampling type saturated sampling which means that all populations were used as samples. The result of this study are 1) Multimedia animation is developed by using Construct 2 software based on the ADDIE (Analysis – Design – Development – Implementation – Evaluation) development model. Validation of multimedia animation by content expert is categorized as feasible (89.41%), validation of media expert is categorized as feasible (79.04%); 2) Improvement of students’ understanding that is calculated by using N-gain for experimental class is categorized as medium improvement (0.41), while result of control class is categorized as low (0.23); and 3) users’ response toward multimedia animation is really good (85.7%).
