Abstract

Kurangna kamampuh maca warta siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lembang Taun Ajar 2019/2020 jadi kasang tukang dina ieu panalungtikan. Tujuanna pikeun ngadéskripsikeun kamampuh maca warta saméméh jeung sabada ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction, kamampuh maca warta saméméh jeung sabada teu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction, ningkatna kamampuh maca warta sabada ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction jeung bédana kamampuh maca warta nu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction jeung nu teu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction. Métode anu digunakeun nyaéta métode studi ékspérimén murni, kalawan desain True Experimental Design dina wangun Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampelna siswa kelas VIII-I (ékspérimén) jeung VIII-A (kontrol). Instrumén anu digunakeun pikeun ngumpulkeun data nyaéta instrumén tés lisan. Hasil panalungtikanna nyaéta, (1) kamampuh maca warta saméméh jeung sabada kagolong kana can mampuh (34) jeung kagolong kana mampuh (70); (2) kamampuh maca warta saméméh jeung sabada teu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction kagolong kana can mampuh (30) jeung kagolong kana can mampuh (54); (3) aya ningkatna kamampuh maca warta sabada ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction, katitén tina hasil tés saméméh tina kagolong can mampuh (34) jadi mampuh (70) sabada ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction; jeung (4) aya bédana anu signifikan antara kamampuh maca warta nu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction jeung nu teu ngagunakeun modél Direct Instruction. Tina hasil uji hipotésis alternatif (H_a) ditarima atawa hipotésis nol (H_0) ditolak. Dumasar kana hasil panalungtikan bisa dicindekkeun yén modél Direct Instruction éféktif digunakeun dina pangajaran maca warta siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lembang Taun ajar 2019/2020. Kecap galeuh: maca warta, modél direct instruction ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca berita siswa kelas VIII. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca berita sebelum dan sesudah menggunakeun model Direct Instruction, kemampuan membaca berita sebelum dan sesudah tidak menggunakeun model Direct Instruction, peningkatan kemampuan membaca berita sesudah menggunakan model Direct Instruction, dan perbedaan kemampuan membaca berita yang menggunakan model Direct Instruction dengan yang tidak menggunakan model Direct Instruction. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi eksperimen murni, dengan desain True Experimental Design dalam bentuk Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampelnya adalah siswa kelas VIII-I (eksperimen) dan kelas VIII-A (kontrol). Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan hasil yaitu instrumen tes lisan. Hasil penelitiannya adalah, (1) kemampuan membaca berita sebelum dan sesudah menggunakeun model Direct Instruction tergolong belum mampu (34) dan tergolong mampu (70); (2) kemampuan membaca berita sebelum dan sesudah tidak menggunakeun model Direct Instruction tergolong belum mampu (30) dan tergolong belum mampu (54); (3) adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca berita sesudah menggunakan model Direct Instruction, terlihat dari hasil tes sebelumnya tergolong belum mampu (34) menjadi mampu (70) setelah menggunakan model Direct Instruction; dan (4) adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca berita yang menggunakan model Direct Instruction dengan yang tidak menggunakan model Direct Instruction. Dari hasil uji hipotesis alternatif (H_a) diterima atau hipotesis nol (H_0) ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Direct Instruction efektif digunakeun dalam pembelajaran membaca berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lembang tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Kata kunci: membaca berita, model direct instruction ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low ability to read news of eighth grade students. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to read the news before and after using the Direct Instruction model, the ability to read the news before and after not using the Direct Instruction model, increase the ability to read the news after using the Direct Instruction model, and difference in the ability to read news using the Direct model Instruction with those who do not use the Direct Instruction model. The method used is a pure experimental study method, with True Experimental Design in the form of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample is students of class VIII-I (experimental) and class VIII-A (control). The instrument used to collect the results is the oral test instrument. The results of the study are, (1) the ability to read the news before and after using the Direct Instruction model is classified as incapable ( 34) and classified as capable (70) (2) the ability to read news before and after not using the Direct Instruction model is classified as not capable (30) and classified as unable (54), (3) there is an increase in the ability to read news after using the Direct Instruction model , it can be seen from the results of the previous test that it has not been able to (34) become able (70) after using the Direct Instruction model, and (4) there is a significant level of ability to read news using the Direct Instruction model and those who do not use the Direct Instruction model. alternative hypothesis (H_a) is accepted or null hypothesis (H_0) is rejected Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the mode l Direct Instruction is used effectively in learning how to read news for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Lembang in 2019/2020.
