Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukan perbedaan kemampuan pemahman konsep matematis siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education dan pembelajaran yang konvensional (model Ekspositori). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Eksperimental jenis Nonequivalent Control Group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV di wilayah Gugus Isola Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang diberikan sebelum dilakukannya perlakuan dan sesudah diberikannya perlakuan. Melalui analisis data pretest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dapat diketahui bahwa kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan awal yang homogen. Setelah dilakukannya perlakuan dikelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education dan kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan model Ekspositori, keduanya mengalami peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang signifikan. Karena data kedua kelas mengalami peningkatan kemampuan pemahman konsep matematis yang signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest maka dilakukanlah analisis N-Gain agar dapat mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Analisis N-Gain menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pada kedua kelas. Peningkatan kemampuan pemahman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education sebagai kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding dengan kelas kontrol.;---This study aims to show differences in students' learning ability of mathematical concepts through the application of Realistic Mathematic Education approach and conventional learning (Expository model). This research is Quasi Experimental research type Nonequivalent Control Group. The population of this study is all students of class IV in the Isola cluster area of Bandung. The instrument used in this study is the ability to comprehend the concept of mathematical concepts given prior to the treatment and after the treatment. Through the analysis of pretest data in the experimental class and control class it is known that both classes have a homogeneous initial ability. After doing the experimental class treatment using Realistic Mathematic Education approach and control class using Expository model, both of them have increased the ability of understanding the significant mathematical concept. Since the data of both classes experienced an increase in the ability of the mathematical concepts to be significant between the pretest and posttest scores, an N-Gain analysis was conducted in order to know the difference in the improvement of the control class and the experimental class. N-Gain analysis shows that there is a difference in the increase in both classes. The improvement of the ability of the mathematical concept of the students who acquired the learning of Realistic Mathematic Education approach as the experimental class is higher than the control class.
