Abstract

Berdasarkan kurikulum 2013 pembelajaran Biologi mengharuskan siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berfikir. Kompetensi tersebut dapat dilihat dari bagaimana kemampuan berargumentasi dan pengambilan keputusan siswa. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sejauh mana tingkat kemampuan argumentasi dan pengambilan keputusan siswa SMA kelas X mengenai permasalahan penggunaan pestisida sintetis. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif yang melibatkan sejumlah siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pemilihan lokasi karena lokasi sekolah yang dekat dengan sentra pertanian. Data kemampuan argumentasi diperoleh dari jawaban soal uraian dan data kemampuan pengambilan keputusan diperoleh menggunakan angket. Hasil kemampuan argumentasi menunjukkan bahwa claim, data dan warrant merupakan tiga komponen argumentasi yang paling banyak siswa munculkan, sehingga berdasarkan pencapaian siswa tersebut, sebanyak 79,41% atau sebagian besar argumentasi siswa digolongkan kedalam level 2. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan argumentasi siswa dinyatakan cukup. Selanjutnya untuk kekuatan argumentasi siswa pada umumnya berada pada kategori kurang koheren (KK) atau argumentasi siswa baru memiliki claim yang logis dengan hanya didukung oleh salah satu ground yang logis (warrant, data atau backing). Sementara itu claim siswa yang muncul pada setiap soal umumnya bernilai benar. Untuk hasil kemampuan pengambilan keputusan berdasarkan 5 indikator kemampuan pengambilan keputusan, didapatkan data dengan rata-rata nilai persentase sebesar 73,85% atau masuk kedalam kriteria tinggi. ;---Based on the 2013 curriculum, Biology learning requires students to develop thinking skills. This competency can be seen from how students are able to argue and make decisions. The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent of the level of argumentation and decision-making abilities of 10th grade high school students about the problem of using synthetic pesticides. This research is a type of descriptive research involving a number of 10th grade students in one of the secondary schools in West Bandung Regency. This research location was chosen since the school is close to the agricultural center. The data of argumentation skills was obtained from a descriptive question and answer method while the data of decision-making skills was collected using a questionnaire. The results of argumentation skills show that claims, data and warrant are three components of argumentation that most students come up with, so that based on the student's achievement, as much as 79.41% or most student arguments are classified into level 2. This result show that students' argumentation skills were considered to be adequate. Furthermore, the strength of student argumentation was generally included in the less coherent category, where argumentation of students had a logical claim with only was supported by one logical ground (warrant, data or backing). Meanwhile, the claim of students which appeared on each question was generally in true value. For the results of decision-making abilities, based on 5 indicators of decisionmaking abilities, the data were obtained with the average percentage of 73.85% or included in high criteria.
