Abstract
Cara pandang masyarakat pada penyandang disabilitas masih sangat minim hal tersebut tercermin dari belum ada perhatian atau dukungan yang muncul dari pemerintah. Persoalan tersebut berdampak pada pola pikir dan prilaku masyarakat yang belum tepat terhadap penyandang disabilitas, sehingga menjadi efek domino terhadap kebutuhan dalam bidang pedidikan penyandang disabilitas. Penelitian ini, akan memperdalam mengenai pemberdayaan masyarakat terkait pendidikan anak disabilitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merumuskan atau menggagas bagaimana program pemberdayaan masyarakat terkait pendidikan anak disabilitasuntuk meningkatkan keberdayaan masyarakat agar dapat memenuhi pendidikan anak dengan disabilitas di Desa Duampanua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif atau naturalistik dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Metode ini digunakan untuk mengungkap kondisi faktual masyarakat terhadap penyandang disabilitas secara alamiah merujuk kepada perumusan masalah, tujuan penelitian, dan subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pandangan masyarakat terhadap keberadaan disabilitas di desa Duampanua tidak cukup baik. Hal tersebut dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat yang kurang akan informasi tentang layanan pendidikan yang tepat bagi anak disabilitas yang menunjang kebutuhannya. Pengembangan program pemberdayaan masyarakat yang telah dirancang masih bersifat hipotetik, diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan dan mampu memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman bagi masyarakat mengenai anak disabilitas di desa Duampanua. ;----The community's perspective on people with disabilities is still very minimal, this is reflected in the lack of attention or support that arises from the government. These issues have an impact on people's mindsets and behavior that are not appropriate for persons with disabilities, thus becoming a domino effect on the needs in the field of education of people with disabilities. This research will deepen the community empowerment related to disability children's education. The purpose of this study was to formulate or initiate how community empowerment programs related to disability children's education to improve community empowerment in order to fulfill the education of children with disabilities in Duampanua Village. The research method used in this study is qualitative or naturalistic with a descriptive approach. This method is used to reveal the factual conditions of the community towards persons with disabilities naturally referring to the formulation of the problem, the purpose of the study, and the subject of the study. Based on the results of the study, it was found that people's views on the existence of disability in the village of Duampanua were not good enough. This is influenced by the knowledge and understanding of the people who lack information about appropriate education services for children with disabilities who support their needs. The development of a community empowerment program that has been designed is still hypothetical, is expected to be implemented and able to provide knowledge and understanding to the community regarding children with disabilities in the village of Duampanua.
