Abstract

Fenomena pertumbuhan penduduk merupakan hal yang lazim di Indonesia. Fenomena peningkatan jumlah penduduk akan berakhir pada munculnya permukiman kumuh. Tanjungpinang merupakan salah satu kota berkembang yang tidak luput dari fenomena permukiman kumuh. Hal ini sangat menarik untuk dikaji. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian yaitu menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kekumuhan baik secara umum dan berdasarkan parameter kekumuhan serta menganalisis persebaran tingkat kekumuhan permukiman di Kota Tanjungpinang. Permasalahan ini akan dikaji dengan menggunakan metode deskritif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan keruangan serta menggunakan teknik analisis Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dengan jumlah sampel 90 orang. Masalah yang menonjol atau menyebabkan Kota Tanjungpinang kumuh yaitu karena kebiasaan masyarakatnya yang masih buruk dan belum sadar akan lingkungan seperti membuang limbah ke laut. Serta ditinjau dari parameter kekumuhan, masalah terbesar yaitu tidak tersedia sarana dan prasarana proteksi kebakaran, buruknya kondisi drainase serta rendahnya kualitas bangunan. Kemudian hasil akhir pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kota Tanjungpinang berada pada tingkat kumuh ringan dengan karakteristik tipologi permukiman atas air. Adapun rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan perbaikan dan peningkatan kondisi lingkungan baik fisik maupun sosial di Kota Tanjungpinang. ;---The phenomenon of population growth is common in Indonesia. The phenomenon of increasing population will end in the emergence of slums. Tanjungpinang is one of the developing cities that is not spared from the phenomenon of slums. This is very interesting to study. So that the purpose of the study is to analyze the factors that influence the slums both in general and based on the parameters of slums and analyze the distribution of the level of slums of settlements in Tanjungpinang City. This problem will be assessed using quantitative descriptive method with spatial approach and using Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis techniques with a sample of ninety people. The problem that stands out or causes Tanjungpinang City to be slum is because of the habits of the people who are still poor and not aware of the environment such as throwing waste into the sea. And in terms of the parameters of slums, the biggest problem is that there are no fire protection facilities and infrastructure, poor drainage conditions and low quality of buildings. Then the final results in this study indicate that the city of Tanjungpinang is at the level of a light slum with characteristic typology of settlements on water. The recommendations of this study are to improve and improve both physical and social environmental conditions in Tanjungpinang City.
