Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran melalui strategi REACT dan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional serta mendeskripsikan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran REACT. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dilakukan kajian melalui kuasi eksperimen dengan sampel dua kelas pada suatu SMP di kota Bandung. Pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan strategi REACT sedangkan pada kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran REACT lebih baik dibandingkan peningkatan kemampuan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional serta siswa menunjukkan respon yang positif terhadap pembelajaran dengan strategi REACT. Kata kunci : REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering), Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis. This research aimed to describe increased mathematical connection ability of students who got the lesson through REACT strategy and increased mathematical connections of students who received conventional teaching and learning also described the students' response to REACT. To achieve these goals through a quasi-experimental study carried out with a sample of two classes of SMP in Bandung. Learning in the classroom experiments using a contextual approach with REACT strategy while the control class using conventional learning. The experimental results showed an increase mathematical connection ability of student who gets learning through the REACT strategy better than increasing mathematical connection ability of students who gets conventional teaching and the students showed a positive response to learning the REACT strategy.
