Abstract

Kompetensi ecoliteracy dan kemampuan perspektif global sangat dibutuhkan pada kondisi bumi saat ini, dimana penduduk bumi dihadapkan pada banyak tantangan lingkungan, termasuk perubahan iklim dan semakin berkurangnya sumber daya alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi ecoliteracy, kemampuan perspektif global, dan kontribusi kompetensi ecoliteracy terhadap kemampuan perspektif global. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan kuisioner, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji koefisien korelasi, uji regresi linier sederhana, dan koefisien determinasi. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kompetensi ecoliteracy sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan perspektif global sebagai variabel terikat. Kompetensi ecoliteracy memiliki empat indikator yaitu, aspek pengetahuan, sikap, keterampilan dan partisipasi. Kemampuan perspektif global memiliki lima indikator yaitu, kesadaran perspektif, kesadaran akan kondisi planet bumi, kesadaran antar budaya, pengetahuan dinamika global, dan pilihan untuk partisipasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan geografi Universitas Negeri Medan yang berjumlah 254 mahasiswa. Sampel berjumlah 156 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kompetensi ecoliteracy mahasiswa pendidikan geografi Universitas Negeri Medan sebagian besar (56,41%) berada pada kategori sedang dengan rentang skor 98-150 ; (2) Kemampuan perspektif sebagian besar (60,89%) berada pada kategori sedang dengan rentang skor 51-76; (3) Terdapat kontribusi kompetensi ecoliteracy terhadap kemampuan perspektif global sebesar 38%. Dengan demikian kompetensi ecoliteracy memberikan kontribusi terhadap kemampuan perspektif global.----------Ecoliteracy competence and the ability of a global perspective are needed in the current condition of the earth, where the earth's population is faced with many environmental challenges, including climate change and the diminishing of natural resources. This study aims to determine the ecoliteracy competence, the ability of a global perspective, and the contribution of ecoliteracy competence to the ability of a global perspective. The method used in this research is survey. Data collection using tests and questionnaires, while data analysis techniques using the correlation coefficient test, simple linear regression test, and the coefficient of determination. The variables in this study are ecoliteracy competence as independent variables and global perspective ability as the dependent variable. Ecoliteracy competence has four indicators namely, aspects of knowledge, attitudes, skills and participation. The ability of a global perspective has five indicators namely, awareness of perspective, awareness of the condition of the planet, intercultural awareness, knowledge of global dynamics, and choices for participation. The population in this study were geography education students at Medan State University, totaling 254 students. The sample was 156 students. The results showed: (1) Most of the ecoliteracy competencies of geography education students at Medan State University (56.41%) were in the medium category with a score range of 98-150; (2) Most of perspective skills (60.89%) are in the medium category with a score range of 51-76; (3) There is a contribution of ecoliteracy competence to the ability of a global perspective of 38%. Thus ecoliteracy competence contributes to the ability of a global perspective.
