Abstract

Pada pelaksanaan praktikum, mahasiswa membuat gambar hasil observasi terhadap objek atau fenomena. Mahasiswa dapat mengkonstruk pengetahuan faktual berdasarkan observasi terhadap objek atau fenomena yang diamati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan representasi gambar hasil praktikum mahasiswa berdasarkan gender serta hubungannya dengan kemampuan observasi dan pengetahuan faktual pada materi anatomi tumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 33 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi pada salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah rubrik penilaian gambar, lembar observasi kemampuan observasi, uji pengetahuan faktual, dan pedoman wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan Program SPSS 24. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa representasi gambar, kemampuan observasi, serta pengetahuan faktual mahasiswa dikategorikan kurang sekali. Berdasarkan gender, mahasiswa perempuan memiliki representasi gambar, kemampuan observasi, dan pengetahuan faktual yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa laki-laki. Berdasarkan uji statistika, korelasi antara representasi gambar dan pengetahuan faktual berada pada kategori rendah. Korelasi antara kemampuan observasi dan pengetahuan faktual berada pada kategori cukup. Korelasi antara representasi gambar dan kemampuan observasi berada pada kategori cukup.;---In practical work, biology students often draw the picture which is resulted of their observation about object or phenomena. Biology students could to construct factual knowledge through observation about the objects or phenomena were observed. This study objectives is to describe picture representation of biology students practical work based on gender and the correlation with observation ability and factual knowledge on plants anatomy topic. The research method is a descriptive. The study involves 33 biology students of one private university in Bandung. The research instruments used rubric of picture assessment, observation sheet of observation ability, test of factual knowledge, and guidance interview. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS Program 24. The results show that the picture representation, observation ability, and factual knowledge of biology students generally can be categorized as less category. Based on gender, results show that picture representation, observation ability, and factual knowledge of female students better than male students. The correlation between the picture representation and factual knowledge is in the low category. The correlation between the observation ability and factual knowledge is in the sufficient category. The correlation between the picture representation and observation ability in the sufficient category.
