Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji etnoekologi masyarakat sekitar Situ Bagendit, Kecamatan Banyuresmi, Kabupaten Garut. Kajian penelitian meliputi kondisi etnografis, pengetahuan lingkungan, kegiatan, masalah lingkungan yang dialami, etika dan sikap masyarakat, dan dampak interaksi masyarakat sekitar Situ Bagendit terhadap kondisi lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data purposive sampling. Responden berjumlah 42 orang yang merupakan masyarakat sekitar Situ Bagendit yang berusia 18 – 60 tahun. Data primer diperoleh melalui instrumen wawancara, angket, dan observasi lapangan sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari penelitian sebelumnya dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi masyarakat dalam bidang pertanian, perikanan, pemukiman, dan pariwisata mempengaruhi kualitas air Situ Bagendit. Walaupun masyarakat telah berusaha dalam menjaga lingkungan Situ Bagendit dengan memperlihatkan perilaku peduli lingkungan, namun pengetahuan tentang dampak kegiatan masyarakat terhadap lingkungan masih minim sehingga menyebabkan penurunan kualitas lingkungan Situ Bagendit. Kegiatan masyarakat sekitar menyebabkan Situ Bagendit mengalami kenaikan unsur hara atau eutrofikasi kultural hingga berada dalam status trofik hipereutrof.----------This study examines the ethnoecology of the community surrounding Situ Bagendit, Banyuresmi District, Garut Regency. Research studies include ethnographic conditions, environmental knowledge, activities, environmental problems experienced, ethics and community attitudes, and the impact of community interaction around Situ Bagendit on environmental conditions. This research used descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling data collection techniques. Respondents were 42 persons from the community surrounding Situ Bagendit who were aged 18 - 60 years. Primary data were obtained through interview instruments, questionnaires, and field observations while secondary data were obtained from previous research and literature studies. The results showed that community interaction in agriculture, fisheries, settlement, and tourism affected Situ Bagendit water quality. Although the community has tried to protect Situ Bagendit's environment by showing environmental care behavior, knowledge about the impact of community activities on the environment is still minimal, causing a reduction in the quality of Situ Bagendit's environment. The activities of the surrounding community cause Situ Bagendit to experience an increase in nutrients or cultural eutrophication to the trophy status of hypereutrophic.
