Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis kalimat sederhana. Hal ini disebabkan karena proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh guru tidak menitik beratkan pada proses latihan dan pembiasaan menulis serta kurang adanya bimbingan. Selain itu kurang memberikan sumber inspirasi bagi siswa untuk menuangkan ide atau gagasannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode drill untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa kelas II SDN CRK. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan MC. Taggart. Tindakan dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus, setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan observasi, refleksi. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 23 siswa. Pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa prasiklus yaitu 53,65 dengan persentase ketuntasan 32,00 %. Pada siklus I nilai rata-ratanya meningkat menjadi 71,17 dengan persentase ketuntasan 56,52% serta pada siklus II rata-ratanya meningkat menjadi 85,22 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 95,65%. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat simpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar. ;---This research is motivated by the low ability of students to write simple sentences. This is because the learning process carried out by the teacher does not focus on the training process and writing habits and lack of guidance. In addition, it does not provide a source of inspiration for students to express their ideas or ideas. This study aims to describe the application of the drill method to improve the ability to write simple sentences for second grade students of SDN CRK. Based on these problems, the classroom action research was carried out using the Kemmis and McTaggart model class action research methods. The action is carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The study subjects consisted of 23 students. Data processing used is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the average score of pre-cycle students, which was 53.65 with a percentage of completeness of 32.00%. In the first cycle the average value increased to 71.17 with a completeness percentage of 56.52% and the average cycle II increased to 85.22 with a percentage of completeness of 95.65%. From these results, it can be concluded that the application of the drill method can improve the ability to write simple sentences of second grade elementary school students.
