Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya memiliki kemampuan menulis bagi peserta didik, khususnya menulis teks eksplanasi. Pada era modern seperti sekarang, media atau sumber yang digunakan oleh peserta didik tidak hanya terbatas buku dan guru. Media sosial sebagai sesuatu yang paling dekat dengan peserta didik dapat dimanfaatkan pada sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi menggunakan metode Concept Sentences berbantuan media sosial, dan mendeskripsikan perbedaan antara hasil menulis peserta didik dengan menggunakan metode Concept Sentences berbantuan media sosial dan hasil menulis peserta didik dengan metode konvensional. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini yaitu saat metode ini diterapkan, ada dampak yang muncul pada kelas eksperimen, yaitu meningkatnya rata-rata kemampuan menulis kelas eksperimen. Jika pada pretes rata-rata kemampuan menulisnya sebesar 61,44 setelah diberikannya perlakuan menjadi 74,00. Selain itu, ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari hasil rata-rata menulis teks antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. setelah diberikannya perlakuan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 74,00 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 67,30 dari yang sebelumnya mencapai nilai 59,60. Dari data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan nilai rata-rata hasil postes kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 6,7. Oleh karena itu, metode Concept Sentences berbantuan media sosial dapat dijadikan pilihan metode dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi. ..... This research is motivated by the importance of having the ability to write for students, especially writing explanatory texts. In the modern era like now, the media or sources used by students are not only limited to books and teachers. Social media as something closest to students can be used in learning resources. This study aims to describe the learning process of writing explanatory text using the Concept Sentences method assisted by social media, and describe the differences between students 'writing results using the Concept Sentences method with the help of social media and students' writing results with conventional methods. Research uses quasi-experimental methods. The results obtained from this study are that when this method is applied, there are impacts that appear in the experimental class, namely the increase in the average writing ability of the experimental class. If at the pretest the average writing ability is 61.44 after giving the treatment to 74.00. In addition, there are significant differences from the average results of writing text between the experimental class and the control class. after giving the treatment the average value of the experimental class was 74.00 and the average value of the control class was 67.30 from the previous level of 59.60. From these data it was concluded that the difference in the average value of the posttest results of the experimental and control classes was 6.7. Therefore, the Concept Sentences method with the help of social media can be used as a method choice in learning explanatory text writing.
