Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui representasi ideologi yang digunakan oleh Majalah Tempo sebagai media nasional yang cakupan penyebaran dan pemberitaannya luas dalam memandang dan menyikapi masalah-masalah yang yang terjadi. Salah satu masalah itu adalah kasus perdagangan senjata militer di Indonesia. Adapun masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) bagaimanakah struktur makro teks pemberitaan seputar persenjataan Tentara Nasional Indonesia pada media massa Majalah Tempo; 2) bagaimanakah superstruktur teks pemberitaan seputar persenjataan Tentara Nasional Indonesia pada media massa Majalah Tempo; 3) bagaimanakah struktur mikro teks pemberitaan seputar persenjataan Tentara Nasional Indonesia pada media massa Majalah Tempo; 4) bagaimanakah representasi ideologi Majalah Tempo pada pemberitaan seputar persenjataan Tentara Nasional Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis. Pendekatan analisis wacana kritis yang digunakan adalah model analisis Teun A. Van Dijk. Model analisis ini membagi teks ke dalam tiga bagian, yakni struktur makro, superstruktur, dan struktur mikro. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa bahasa pada teks pemberitaan dalam majalah Tempo edisi 29 Oktober-4 November 2012. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pada tataran struktur makro berita-berita Majalah Tempo mengesankan bahwa pemerintah sudah melakukan sikap tegas dengan dibuatnya undang-undang industri pertahanan dalam menanggulangi para makelar senjata. Pada tataran suprastruktur berita-berita Majalah Tempo selalu menghadirkan komentar dan kritik dari berbagai pihak mengenai kondisi persenjataan yang harus mengalami modernisasi serta anggaran dana yang harus dipantau langsung oleh Tim yang sudah dibentuk pemerintah. Pada tataran struktur mikro berita-berita Majalah Tempo selalu menonjolkan isi berita yang menghadirkan citraan negatif mengenai persenjataan di Indonesia, dengan tujuan agar pemerintah segera mengambil tindakan atas kejadian tersebut. Diksi yang digunakan lebih berani dan banyak menggunakan metafora atau ungkapan. Majalah Tempo dalam pemberitaanya tidak berpihak kepada makelar senjata, tetapi lebih berpihak terhadap pemerintah dan rakyat Indonesia. This study was conducted to determine the ideology of representation which used by Tempo magazine as national media that it’s coverage and is preaching widely to spread in looking at and addressing the problems those are happening. One of the problems is the case trading about military wapon in Indonesia. The problem in these study are 1) how is the structure of a text macro news surrounding the Indonesian military weapons on mass media Tempo magazine, 2) how is the text of the news surrounding superstructure Indonesian military weapons on media Tempo Magazine, 3) how is the text of the news surrounding microstructure weapon Indonesian Armed Forces on media Tempo magazine, 4) how is the ideological representation of Tempo magazine on the news of weapon at national Indonesian military. This research uses the qualitative research model with critical discourse analysis approach. Critical discourse analysis approach used by the analysis model of Teun A. Van Dijk. This analysis model divides the text into three parts, those are the macro-structure, superstructure, and microstructure. Data collection techniques in this study is using the documentation. The data in the research is the language in the text of the news Tempo magazine on 29th October to 4th November 2012. These results indicate of the following conclusions. At the macro- level structure of the news of Tempo magazine impressive to the government has done made a firm stance with the laws of the defense industry in tackling gun broker. At the level of the superstructure of the news Tempo magazine always brings comments and criticisms from various parties regarding the conditions that must be experienced about weapons modernization and budgetary to funds which should be directly monitored by a team that has been formed by the government. At the level of microstructure news Tempo magazine always highlights the news that the content has presented negative images about weapons in Indonesia, with the aim that the government take action over the incidentsom. Diction is used braver of uses more metaphors or expressions. Tempo magazine in its news not to favor the arms broker, but its more sympathetic to the government and people of Indonesia.
