Abstract

ABSTRAK Kota Cimahi terus mengalami peningkatan dan perbaikan dalam penyediaan maupun pengelolaan sarana infrastruktur kota pada setiap tahunnnya. Salah satu sarana dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan akan literasi yakni adanya perpustakaan umum. Keberadaan perpustakaan umum sangat penting sebagai sarana yang dapat diakses oleh masyarakat yang tidak mengenyam pendidikan formal guna mendukung keberhasilan pembangunan nasional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi distribusi penduduk, jarak tiap kecamatan, kekuatan interaksi antar tiap kecamatan, dan menganalisis lokasi perpustakaan umum menurut Model Gravitasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder dan primer dengan menggunakan analisis Model Gravitasi. Hasil penelitian yakni letak posisi perpustakaan umum kurang sesuai jika dilihat berdasarkan jumlah penduduk dan distribusi penduduk tiap kecamatan di Kota Cimahi dan lokasi perpustakaan saat ini. Jarak tiap kecamatan menggunakan empat kategori jarak didapatlah Kecamatan Cimahi Utara berada di jarak dekat, dilanjut oleh Kecamatan Cimahi Tengah dan Kecamatan Cimahi Selatan. Kekuatan interaksi menunjukkan bahwa Kecamatan Cimahi Utara nilainya tinggi, dilanjut oleh Kecamatan Cimahi Tengah, dan Kecamatan Cimahi Selatan. Berdasarkan Model Gravitasi menunjukkan bahwa Kecamatan Cimahi Utara memiliki nilai interaksi tinggi, hal ini karena lokasi perpustakaan umum berada di Kecamatan Cimahi Utara, jaraknya yang dekat, jumlah trip/perjalanan tinggi, tetapi jumlah penduduk Kecamatan Cimahi Utara rendah jika dibandingkan dengan kecamatan lainnya. Berdasarkan kesimpula diatas, penggunaan Model Gravitasi dalam analisis lokasi sangatlah penting dan perlu untuk diterapkan sehingga dapat mengetahui kekuatan interaksi yang dihasilkan oleh suatu lokasi. Kata kunci : Kota Cimahi, Perpustakaan Umum, Kekuatan Interaksi, Model Gravitasi ABSTRACT Cimahi City continues to experience enhancements and improvemens in the provision and management of city infrastructure every year. One of the means in fulfilling the need for literacy is the existence of a public library. The existence of a public library is very important as a means that can be accessed by people who have no formal education to support the success of national development. The purpose of this study was to identify population distribution, distance of each district, strength of interaction between each district, and analyze the location of public libraries according to the Gravity Model. The research method used is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample uses a purposive sampling technique. The data used are secondary and primary data using gravity model analysis. The results of the research are that the position of the public library is not appropriate when viewed based on the population and population distribution of each district in Cimahi City and the current location of the library. The distance of each sub-district using the four distance categories is that North Cimahi District is located at a short distance, followed by Central Cimahi District and South Cimahi District. The strength of interaction shows that the District of North Cimahi is high, followed by the District of Central Cimahi, and the District of South Cimahi. Based on the Gravity Model shows that the District of North Cimahi has a high interaction value, this is because the location of the public library is in the District of North Cimahi, the distance is close, the number of trips is high, but the population of the District of North Cimahi is low when compared to other districts. Based on the above conclusions, the use of Gravity Model in location analysis is very important and needs to be applied so that it can find out the strength of interaction produced by a location.
