Abstract

Kepala sekolah merupakan pemimpin tertinggi dalam satuan pendidikan yang memiliki peran yang strategis dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui: peningkatan kinerja, strategi kepala sekolah, serta faktor penunjang dan penghambat yang dihadapi sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SDN Cimahi Mandiri 2 kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah:wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah: kepala sekolah, guru, komite dan orang tua murid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Peningkatan kinerja guru terjadi karena faktor meningkatnya kompetensi guru mulai dari kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi profesional, kompetensi kepribadian dan kompetensi sosial (2) Strategi peningkatan kinerja guru dengan cara pengembangan diri guru, pemberian motivasi terhadap guru, pembiasaan kedisiplinan terhadap guru, serta optimalisasi kompetensi kepala sekolahn. Dalam pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah menerapkan strategi kepemimpinan demokratis. (3) Faktor penunjang strategi kepemimpinan dikarenakan adanya pengalaman dari para guru dalam hal mengajar serta gedung sekolah yang tersedia sudah cukup mendukung untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran. faktor penghambat pelaksanaan strategi yaitu para guru yang relatif sudah hampir mendekati masa pensiun sehingga dalam hal mengikuti perkembangan teknologi untuk pembelajaran tergolong lambat serta media pembelajaran untuk menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran masih kurang.;--The principal is the highest leader in an education unit that has a strategic role in improving teachers' performance. The purposes of this research are: to find out: improvement in performance, strategy of the principal, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors faced by school in improving teachers' performance in Cimahi Mandiri 2 Elementary School in Cimahi. This study uses descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are: interview, observation, and documentation studies. The research subjects are: school principal, teachers, committees and parents. The results of the research showed that: (1) Improvement of teachers' performance occurred due to factors of increasing teachers' competency starting from pedagogic competencies, professional competencies, personality competencies and social competencies (2) Strategies for improving teachers' performance by means of teachers' self-development, motivation for teachers, discipline towards teachers, as well as optimizing the competence of principal. In making decision, principal implements the democratic leadership strategies. (3) Supporting factors in implementing the strategy due to the experience of the teachers in terms of teaching, and available facilities sufficiently support to carry out learning. Inhibiting factors in the implementation of strategies are teachers who are relatively close to retirement so that in terms of following the development of technology for learning is relatively slow and the infrastructure to support learning activities is still not enough.
