Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis dan mengkarakterisasi film konduktif komposit PVA/CS/GA/NH4Cl. Film komposit disintesis dengan metode solution mixing dan casting pada suhu ruang. Film hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), XRD (X-ray Diffraction), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), hidrofilisitas, transparansi, sifat mekanik, dan uji konduktivitas. Penyisipan NH4Cl pada matriks memodifikasi struktur morfologi film PVA/CS/GA yang mengakibatkan roughness structure pada film konduktif PVA/CS/GA seperti ditunjukkan oleh foto SEM. Spektra FTIR mengkonfirmasi interaksi komponen penyusun film komposit yang menyebabkan pergeseran bilangan gelombang pada gugus fungsi hidroksil, amina, dan karbonil. Difraktogram X-ray menunjukkan pergeseran dan meningkatkan intensitas pada tiga puncak karakteristik yang merupakan puncak kristal dan puncak khas amorf serta memunculkan puncak baru yang berhubungan dengan NH4Cl. Selain mempengaruhi karakteristik thin film PVA/CS/GA, penambahan NH4Cl juga mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil uji konduktivitas, hidrofobisitas, dan stabilitas termal film konduktif, namun disisi lain, menurunkan kekuatan mekanik thin film PVA/CS/GA. Kata kunci: film konduktif, PVA, kitosan, NH4Cl. ABSTRACT This study aims to synthesize and characterize the conductive film composite PVA/CS/GA/NH4Cl. Composite films were synthesized by solution mixing and casting at room temperature. Synthesized films were characterized by FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), XRD (X-ray Diffraction), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), hydrophilicity, transparency, mechanical properties, and conductivity tests. The insertion of NH4Cl in the matrix modifies the morphological structure of the PVA/CS/GA film which results in roughness structure in the conductive film PVA/CS/GA as shown by SEM photographs. The FTIR spectra confirm the interaction of the components making up the composite film which causes shifting of the wave numbers in the hydroxyl, amine, and carbonyl functional groups. X-ray diffractogram shows a shift and increases the intensity of the three characteristic peaks which are crystal peaks and amorphous peaks and gives rise to new peaks associated with NH4Cl. In addition to influencing the characteristics of PVA/CS/GA thin films, the addition of NH4Cl also affects the increase in the conductivity, hydrophobicity, and thermal stability results of conductive films, but on the other hand, decreases the mechanical strength of PVA/CS/GA thin films.
