Abstract

This study is based on story of West Kalimantan students at Rahadi Oesman dormitory in Gegerkalong Hilir who had a hard time to adapt at the beginning with the society due to character differences. The purpose of this study are to find out (a) how the student of West Kalimantan adjust theirself when interacting with the society, (b) what obstacles that they experienced during the interaction, and (c) how is the change to West Kalimantan students after adaptation process. Descriptive qualitative approaches are excellent ways to investigate adaptation process by students at dormitory. The subject are students who come from West Kalimantan and the people around Rahadi Oesman dormitory. Data collection are observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. Findings from this study is the students need a quite a long time to adapt with the society because there are differences in clime, culture, norm and moral value.
