Abstract

Motivasi dalam proses pembelajaran seni tari menjadi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Talking Stick untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran seni tari. Secara spesifik permasalahan dapat dirumuskan sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimana motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-A di SMP PGRI Pangkalan sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran Talking Stick? (2) Bagaimana motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-A di SMP PGRI Pangkalan selama proses diterapkannya model pembelajaran Talking Stick? (3) Bagaimana motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-A di SMP PGRI Pangkalan setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Talking Stick?. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest design dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa siswi kelas VII di SMP PGRI Pangkalan Kabupaten Karawang dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 32 siswa. Motivasi belajar siswa sebelum diterapkan model Talking Stick cenderung lemah dan pasif. Proses pembelajaran seni tari menggunakan model Talking Stick menunjukan siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan antusias dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa motivasi siswa meningkat setelah diterapkan model Talking Stick. Dibuktikan dengan hasil uji t yang diperoleh thitung sebesar 5, 671 dan ttabel 1, 696. Dapat diketahui bahwa thitung > ttabel atau 5,671 > 1,696 menunjukan bahwa model Talking Stick signifikan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-A di SMP PGRI Pangkalan. Kata Kunci : Model Talking Stick, Pembelajaran Seni Tari, Motivasi Belajar Motivation in the process of learning dance becomes a problem in this study, the purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Talking Stick model to improve student motivation in learning dance. Specifically, the problem can be formulated as follows: (1) How is the motivation of students in learning dance before the application of the Talking Stick model in PGRI Junior High School Karawang District (2) How is the process of learning dance using the Talking Stick model to improve student learning motivation in PGRI Junior High School Karawang District (3) How is the motivation of students in learning dance after the implementation of the Talking Stick model in PGRI Junior High School Karawang District. This study used an experimental method with one group pretest posttest design and quantitative approaches. The population of this study was students of 7th grade in PGRI Pangkalan Junior High School Karawang District with a total sample of 32 students. Student learning motivation before applying the Talking Stick model tends to be weak and passive. The process of dance learning using the Talking Stick model shows students become more active and enthusiastic in the process of dance learning. The results show that students' motivation increased after applying the Talking Stick model. It is proven by the results of t test obtained thitung (tcount) of 5, 671 and ttable 1, 696. It can be seen that tcount> ttable or 5.671> 1.696 shows that the Talking Stick model can significantly improve student motivation in A-7th grade in PGRI Pangkalan Junior High School.
