Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan argumentasi siswa dengan mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning) dengan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) pada materi Jamur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kelas X MIPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di kota Bandung terhadap 59 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes kemampuan argumentasi dalam bentuk essay (6 soal), tes penalaran logis, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan sintaks, angket respon siswa, dan lembar wawancara. Kemampuan argumentasi siswa di analisis berdasarkan sebaran level argumentasi dan kualitas argumentasi. Kemampuan argumentasi yang di analisis adalah kemampuan berargumentasi tertulis dan menggunakan Toulmin Argument Pattern (TAP). Data dari tes awal dan akhir digunakan untuk melihat perolehan argumentasi siswa setelah implementasi model. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah kemampuan argumentasi siswa mengalami peningkatan (N-Gain) dengan kategori sedang dan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai kemampuan argumentasi sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Sebaran level argumentasi siswa berada dalam rentang level 0 sampai dengan level 4 dengan mayoritas berada pada level 2. Kualitas argumentasi siswa mayoritas (72,88%) berada dalam kategori cukup baik. Tingkat berpikir logis memiliki hubungan positif dengan korelasi yang cukup kuat dengan kemampuan argumentasi. Secara umum, respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran Project-Based Learning terintegrasi STEM menunjukkan respon yang positif. This study aims to analyze students' argumentation skills by implementing a Project-Based Learning model with the approach of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Fungi concept. This research used pre-experimental method with one-group pretest-posttest design. The research was implemented in 59 students of tenth grade science class in Bandung. The instruments used in this study consisted of an argumentation test instrument in the form of essays (6 questions), test of logical thinking, observation sheets of syntax implementation, student response questionnaires, and interviews. Students' argumentation skill was analyzed based on the distribution of the level of argumentation and the quality of argumentation. Written argumentation skills and the Toulmin Argument Pattern (TAP) were used to asses students’ argumentation skills. Data from the initial and final tests were used to see the acquisition of student arguments after the implementation of the model. The result showed that students' argumentation ability has increased (N-Gain) with the medium category and a significant differences between the scores before and after implementation. The students' level of argumentation was in the range of levels 0 to level 4 with the majority at level 2. The argumentation quality of students' mostly (72.88%) were in the sufficient category. The level of logical reasoning has a positive and fairly strong correlation with the argumentation skills. In general, students' responses to the Project-Based Learning integrated with STEM model showed a positive response.
