Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji gaya komunikasi pelatih wanita dalam melatih tim olahraga putra yang tercatat hanya terdapat satu pelatih wanita yang di Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Bola Basket Kota Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana gaya komunikasi pelatih wanita dalam melatih tim olahraga putra. Penelitian ini penting karena masih ada pandangan negatif mengenai pelatih wanita terutama di bidang olahraga mayor. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada teori yang digunakan dalam menganalisis penelitian ini diadaptasi dari teori gaya komunikasi Norton (1983). Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, diskusi grup forum, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus kepada pelatih wanita. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan rumusan masalah penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatih wanita memiliki penanganan yang lebih lembut terhadap masalah, mengutamakan non-teknis yakni mental para pemain dan pendekatan komunikasi secara personal. Pelatih wanita yang berpengalaman dan ahli di bidangnya adalah kunci utama agar dipercaya dan dapat diterima oleh tim olahraga putra. Disimpulkan bahwa di dalam lapangan memiliki gaya komunikasi yang dominan dan terbuka. Berbeda apabila di luar lapangan berkomunikasi dengan santai dan meninggalkan kesan. Adapun gaya komunikasi dramatis, atensi, ramah dan akurat di kedua gaya komunikasi di dalam dan diluar lapangan. ..... The objective of this study is to describe female coach communication style in training boys sport team. There is only one female coach which is admitted in National Sports Committee of Indonesia Basketball Bandung City. The purpose of this research is to know how the communication style of female coach in training boys sport team. This research is important because there is still negative view to female coach mainly at major sport. This research adopts communication style by Norton (1983). The data is obtained from observations, depth interviews, forum group discussion and documentations. The research implements a qualitative research with case study method applied to female coach. The results of this study based on the formulation of research questions showed that female coach is more softer in handling the problem, prioritizing non-technical such as mentality of the players and a personal communication approach. Female coach who are experienced and experts in their fields are the main keys of being trusted and can be accepted by the boys sports team. It was concluded that inside of the field had a dominant and open communication style. Different with the outside of the field was relaxed and impression leaving communication style. The dramatic, attention, friendly and precise communication style in both inside and outside the field.
