Abstract
ABSTRAK Pendidikan IPS memiliki tugas penting dalam mengembangkan karakter peserta didik, dan merupakan tujuan dari Pendidikan IPS untuk mengembangkan karakter tanggung jawab serta karakter kepedulian sosial. Dalam lingkungan sekolah nilai tanggung jawab dan kepedulian sosial menjadi nilai yang penting dan mendasar untuk dikembangkan. Guru dalam hal menjadi fokus utama untuk mewujudkan keberhasilan pengembangan karakter siswa karena guru berpengaruh dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga guru harus benar – benar membawa siswanya kepada tujuan yang ingin dicapai. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran mengenai kemampuan guru IPS, karakter tanggung jawab dan karakter kepedulian sosial siswa, serta menganalisis pengaruh kemampuan guru IPS terhadap pengembangan karakter tanggung jawab dan kepedulian sosial di kalangan siswa SMP. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung dari 10 sekolah SMP yang digunakan sebagai sampel sebanyak 382 siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei serta analisis data dengan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Berdasarkan hipotesis dan jenis data yang digunakan, pengujian akan menggunakan uji statistik nonparametik. Alasan menggunakan uji statistik ini dikarenakan data yang diambil oleh peneliti berupa data nominal dan ordinal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran kemampuan guru IPS, karakter tanggung jawab dan karakter kepedulian sosial siswa tergolong tinggi. Selanjutnya, kemampuan guru IPS berpengaruh positif terhadap karakter tanggung jawab dan kepedulian sosial, seorang guru memiliki peran dalam hal menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan karakter tanggung jawab serta karakter kepedulian sosial. dengan pribadi guru yang berwibawa, berakhlak mulia dan menjadi teldan bagi siswa dapat mempengaruhi tanggung jawab dan kepedulian sosial. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Guru, Karakter Tanggung Jawab, Karakter Kepedulian Sosial ABSTRACT Social studies education has an important task in developing the character of students, and is the aim of social studies education to develop the character of responsibility and the character of social care. In the school environment the value of responsibility and social care becomes an important and fundamental value to be developed. In this case the teacher became the main focus to realize the success of student character development because the teacher was influential in the teaching learning process so that the teacher must be right to bring his students to the goal that they want to achieve. The aim of this study was to discover ability of the social studies learning teachers, character responsibilities and social care character of students, anda analyze the influence of ability social studies learning teacher to develop the character of responsibility and social care among Junior High School students. This research was conducted at State Junior High Schools in Bandung from 10 junior high schools which were used as samples of 382 students taken using cluster random sampling techniques. This research used survey as method, and multiple linear regression analysis as the data analysis technique. Based on the hypothesis and the type of data used, the testing was conducted by meand of a nonparametric statistical test. The reason for using this statistical test is because the data taken is in the form of nominal and ordinal data. The results of this study showed that the description of the ability social studies learning teacher, character responsibilities and social care characters are included in the high category. Moreover, ability social studies learning teacher also gave a positive impact toward the character's responsibilities a teacher has a role in terms of growing and developing the character of responsibility and the character of social care. with a personal teacher who is authoritative, has good character and becomes a student and can influence social responsibility and care.
