Abstract

ABSTRAK Ilma Fitriya Hidayati. (2019). Implementasi Kurikulum Pendidikan Karakter di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Kota Cirebon. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya implementasi kurikulum pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Pendidikan karakter bermanfaat bagi guru untuk membentuk peserta didik yang berkarakter mengingat saat ini nilai-nilai moral terus mengalami kemerosotan dan semakin tergerus oleh perubahan global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis implementasi kurikulum pendidikan karakter di SMP Kota Cirebon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah guru dan peserta didik di SMPN Kota Cirebon, dengan sampel guru sejumlah 40 orang dan sampel peserta didik sejumlah 40 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) proses perencanaan pembelajaran pendidikan karakter diwujudkan dengan menyusun dokumen RPP yang dirancang oleh guru pada setiap mata pelajaran; (2) proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran pendidikan karakter dilakukan secara terintegrasi pada setiap mata pelajaran. Guru melakukan pengelolaan pembelajaran dalam bentuk kegiatan pembuka, kegiatan inti, dan kegiatan penutup; (3) kegiatan penilaian pembelajaran pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan oleh guru di SMP Kota Cirebon dilakukan terhadap proses dan hasil pembelajaran dengan mencakup aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan; dan (4) kegiatan pengawasan terhadap pembelajaran pendidikan karakter di SMP Kota Cirebon dilaksanakan berupa pendampingan terhadap guru. Berdasarkan temuan, maka dinas pendidikan perlu menyelenggarakan mekanisme pendampingan langsung bagi pelaku pendidikan, pengembang kurikulum perlu menyelenggarakan kegiatan pemantauan secara berkala dan merata kepada sekolah-sekolah di berbagai daerah di Indonesia, kepala sekolah perlu untuk membuat tim khusus yang mengembangkan program karakter di sekolah dan bertugas mendampingi guru, rekomendasi untuk guru yaitu untuk menyusun rencana pembelajaran pendidikan karakter dengan terlebih dahulu melakukan identifikasi nilai-nilai karakter dan melalukan penilaian secara komprehensif, dan peneliti selanjutnya direkomendasikan untuk melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan lainnya sehingga dapat mengungkap implementasi pendidikan karakter dari sudut pandang berbeda. This study was underlied by the importance of character education curriculum implementation in school. The character education is useful for teacher in creating the students who are virtuous when moral values are begin to decline and decrease by global changes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the character education curriculum at Secondary School of Cirebon City. Furthermore, this study employed descriptive method with quantitative approach. The populations of the study were teachers and students at secondary school in Cirebon City, and the samples were 40 teachers and 40 students. The result of this study are: (1) the process of planning character education learning is realized by preparing RPP documents designed by teacher on each subject; (2) the process of implementing character education learning is integrated in each subject. Teacher conducts learning management in the form of opening activities, core activities, and closing activities; (3) character education learning assessment activities carried out by teachers at Secondary School of Cirebon City are conducted on the learning process and outcomes covering aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills; and (4) supervision activities for character education learning at Secondary School of Cirebon City are implemented through assistance of the teachers. Based on the findings, the department of education should provide a direct mentoring mechanism for educators, curriculum developers have to conduct monitoring activities regularly for schools in various regions in Indonesia, principals have to create a special team that developed character programs at school and assign to assist the teachers, recommendations for teachers are to develop a character education learning plan by first identify the character values and conduct a comprehensive assessment, and for the future researchers are recommend to conduct research using other approaches thus it can reveal the implementation of character education from a different perspective.
