Abstract

Abstrak: Kemampuan membaca pemahaman menjadi salah satu faktor keberhasilan dalam proses pembelajaran. Kemampuan membaca pemahaman perlu dimiliki oleh setiap siswa. Dalam kenyataannya masih banyak siswa yang belum memiliki kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, proses dan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan menggunakan metode guided reading. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dengan mengadaptasi model penelitian dari Kemmis & Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V salah satu SD Negeri di Kota Bandung tahun ajaran 2018/2019 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 24 siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan tahapan-tahapan metode guided reading. Indikator membaca pemahaman penelitian ini adalah menentukan ide pokok, mengidentifikasi fakta, menjawab pertanyaan, mengartikan kosa kata dan menceritakan kembali. Data hasil penelitian penerapan metode guided reading menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Pada siklus I ketuntasan belajar kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sebesar 75% dan meningkat menjadi 92% pada siklus II. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu penerapan metode guided reading dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar kelas V. Kata kunci : Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman, Metode Guided Reading Abstract: Reading comprehension ability is one of the success factors in learning process. The ability of reading comprehension need to be possessed by every student. But, in fact there are still many students who don’t have the ability to reading comprehension properly. The research to describe the planning, process, and improvement of reading comprehension ability by applying the guided reading method. The research method used the class action research method, by adapting the Kemmis & Taggart research model which was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were class V students from one of the elementary school in Bandung city the academic year 2018/2019 with a total of 24 students. The study was carried out by applying the steps of the guided reading method. Indicators of reading comprehension of this research are determining key ideas, identifying fact, answering questions, interpreting vocabulary, and retelling. The data from the research results of tge guided reading method showed the results of an increase in reading comprehension ability. In cycle I the completeness of learning to reading comprehension ability students was 75% and increased to 92% in cycle II. Conclusions from this study, the application of the guided reading method can improve the ability of reading comprehension of elementary school student class V.
