Abstract

Inquiry merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang dipandang dapat melatihkan kompetensi literasi saintifik siswa. Pemberian teks reading infusion dipandang dapat menjadi informasi pendukung proses inquiry siswa di dalam kelas. Kompetensi literasi saintifik dimaknai sebagai pengetahuan dan cara-cara saintifik yang digunakan untuk menyelidiki suatu permasalahan serta pengambilan keputusan atas permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peningkatan kompetensi literasi saintifik siswa setelah diterapkannya model inquiry with reading infusion di dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian eksperimen ini menggunakan pre-experimental designs dengan bentuk one group pre-test post-test design menggunakan populasi di salah satu sekolah negeri di Bandung sebanyak 257 siswa dengan sampel 30 siswa yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), tes kompetensi literasi saintifik dalam bentuk soal uraian, teks reading infusion, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran inquiry with reading infusion. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry with reading infusion dapat meningkatkan kompetensi literasi saintifik siswa. Kata Kunci : Inquiry; Kompetensi literasi saintifik; Reading Infusion. Inquiry is a learning model that is seen to trained scientific literacy competence of students. Giving reading infusion text can be seen as supporting information inquiry process of students in the classroom. Scientific literacy competence defined as knowledge and scientific methods used to investigate an issue and decision-making on these issues. This study aims to identify students' scientific literacy competency improvement after the implementation model of inquiry with reading infusion in learning. The pre-experimental designs with the form one group pre-test post-test design were used and 275 students as population in one public school in Bandung, which 30 students are the sample obtained by purposive sampling technique participated in this research. The instruments used are the Student Worksheet, scientific literacy competency test in the form of reserved description, reading infusion text, and observation sheet to look at implementation inquiry with reading infusion model in the learning. The results showed that the implementation of inquiry learning model with reading infusion can improve scientific literacy competence of students.
