Abstract

Rendahnya nilai karakter peduli lingkungan pada masyarakat penganut anthroposentris telah berdampak terhadap kerusakan lingkungan di Provinsi Riau. Cara pandang ekosentris diperlukan untuk memperkuat nilai-nilai peduli lingkungan sebagaimana dipraktikan oleh masyarakat adat Kampar berupa pelestarian Ghimbo Laghangan. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam penelitian ini sebagai sumber pembelajaran IPS untuk membentuk pengetahuan, sikap dan pedoman tindakan pencegahan kerusakan hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali nilai-nilai masyarakat adat Kampar dalam melestarikan Ghimbo Laghangan dan dipraktikan dalam pembelajaran IPS di MTs Koto Tibun Kelas VII. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan strategi transformative sekuensial yaitu satu tahap penelitian mengikuti tahap penelitian berikutnya yaitu metode etnografi diikuti metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemis dan Taggart dalam satu penelitian. Temuan penelitian etnografi menunjukan bahwa masyarakat adat Kampar (1) memiliki cara pandang terhadap Ghimbo Laghangan sebagai bahagian dari kehidupan budaya, adat istiadat, ekonomi dan historis; (2) adanya peran budaya berupa aturan dan norma, pantang larang, mitos, dan adanya peran sosial dalam bentuk Yayasan Pelopor Sehati (YPS), Sentra Penyuluhan Kehutanan Pedesaan (SPKP) dan Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis); (3) masih berjalannya sistem pendidikan informal dalam membangun kesadaran peduli lingkungan terhadap Ghimbo Laghangan; dan (4) temuan penelitian melalui PTK menunjukan hasil yang baik seperti peserta didik memiliki pengetahuan tentang kearifan Ghimbo Laghangan, sikap yang menyadari pentingnya keberadaan Ghimbo Laghangan dan memiliki pedoman keterampilan peduli lingkungan berupa tindakan pemanfaatan limbah berbahan baku kayu diproduksi menjadi produk bernilai guna dan melakukan tindakan penanaman bibit pohon di sekolah sebagai perwujudan implementasi nilai peduli lingkungan dalam melestarikan Ghimbo Laghangan. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan agar dijadikan rujukan bagi pengembangan pembelajaran IPS berbasis nilai peduli lingkungan masyarakat adat Kampar di Kenagarian Rumbio di berbagai sekolah khususnya di Provinsi Riau. Kata kunci:, Ghimbo Laghangan, Masyarakat adat Kampar, Nilai peduli lingkungan, Pembelajaran IPS ABSTRACT IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS VALUE IN KAMPAR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE FOR GHIMBO LAGHANGAN PRESERVATION IN LEARNING SOCIAL STUDIES IN KENAGARIAN RUMBIO RIAU PROVINCE AHMAL 1502539 Deforestation problem frequently occur in Riau Province, caused by human behavior. The human should always protect their life along with natural harmony, because the anthropocentric point of view situated the human to exploit the nature and ignoring the future of ecology system sustainability that cause a deforestation either directly or indirectly experienced continuously by the human continuously. Environment awareness character value in Masyarakat Adat Kampar or Kampar indigenous people to the Ghimbo Laghangan in Kenagarian Rumbio Riau Province is one of deforestation solution and the character education value source for environmental awareness application to the student. Social studies subject learning from local culture creates a knowledge, attitude, and action to prevent deforestation, practice a forest preservation acts, and also one of the efforts to inherit the local culture glorious value of Kampar indigenous people to the next generation. This research focus to identify the environmental awareness character value in Kampar indigenous people to the Ghimbo Laghangan and how to implement the value to the Social studies subject in MTS PP Sabil al Salam Koto Tibun Seventh grade. This research practice qualitative approach with multiple method or mixed method, a combination method between ethnography and Classroom Action Research model from Kemis and Taggart in one of research dissertation. This research found a Ghimbo Laghangan preservation of Kampar indigenous people in Kenagarian Rumbio has a perspective to the forest. The forest is a part of culture of life, adat istiadat or customs and tradition, economy, and the history of the indigenous people of Kampar. Additional result explains ninik mamak or the elder has a powerful influence as the traditional community leader in implementation of prohibition in form of rule and norm, pantang larang, and myth. Additionally, there is an active participation from anak kemenakan or relative in form of Yayasan Pelopor Sehati institute, forest information center in village or Sentra Penyuluhan Kehutanan Pedesaan, Kelompok Sadar Wisata or Pokdarwis (tourism awareness group) and the informal education system is continuously practice to build environmental awareness to the Ghimbo Laghangan for anak kemenakan based on cultural and customs and tradition value. Another result is in implementation of environmental awareness character value in Kampar indigenous people to the Ghimbo Laghangan in Kenagarian Rumbio for Social studies subject. The student has enormous enthusiasm and intense curiosity for Ghimbo Laghangan preservation in Kenagarian Rumbio to develop the environment awareness value for daily life activity. The student has a knowledge resources, attitude implementation, and skill development for environmental awareness through the application of Classroom Action Research. This research recommended becomes a reference for a development of Social Studies subject based on environmental awareness value from Kampar indigenous people of Kenagarian Rumbio in some schools, especially in Riau Province.
