Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya kasus anak jalanan di Kota Depok yang tidak bisa bersekolah lantaran kemiskinan. Padahal disisi lain, usia mereka termasuk wajib belajar dan negara telah menjamin bahwa pendidikan adalah hak semua orang. Sekolah Master (Masjid Terminal) adalah lembaga yang mengayomi dan memfasilitasi masyarakat marjinal melalui pendidikan yang diselenggarakan secara gratis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan penanganan anak jalanan berbasis pendidikan karakter dan keterampilan di Sekolah Master. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari pimpinan sekolah, tutor/ guru, anak jalanan, dan alumni Sekolah Master. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi/ penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) Nilai-nilai karakter yang dikembangkan dapat dikelompokan menjadi 4 kategori, yaitu olah hati, olah pikir, olah raga dan olah rasa/ karsa. Sementara bentuk keterampilan yang dikembangkan meliputi, keterampilan literasi dasar, keterampilan teknikal, keterampilan interpersonal, dan keterampilan problem solving. (2) Proses pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter dan keterampilan meliputi setiap tingkatan dari SD, SMP, dan SMA. Proses ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga bentuk yaitu, bimbingan keagamaan, ilmu pengetahuan umum, dan belajar keterampilan. Proses tersebut dikembangkan melalui integrasi ke dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas, pembiasaan dalam kehidupan di sekolah, integrasi ke dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan penerapan pembiasaan kehidupan keseharian di rumah atau masyarakat. (3) Dampak pendidikan karakter dan keterampilan yaitu, segi kebermanfaatan, segi perubahan yang terjadi meliputi perubahan fisik, mental, kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor, serta segi aplikasi pendidikan karakter dan keterampilan di masa depan.-- This research is motivated by the many cases of street children in Depok City who cannot go to school because of poverty. Whereas on the other hand, their age includes compulsory education and the state has guaranteed that education is the right of all people. The Master School (Terminal Mosque) is an institution that nurtures and facilitates marginal communities through education that is held free of charge. This study aims to describe the handling of street children based on character education and skills in the Master School. This type of research uses a qualitative approach to the case study research method. Subjects in this study consisted of school leaders, tutors, street children, and alumni of the Master's School. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and verification/ drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that (1) the values of the characters that are developed can be grouped into 4 categories, namely the process of heart, thought, sports and taste. While the form of skills developed includes basic literacy skills, technical skills, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills. (2) The process of implementing character education and skills includes every level of elementary, middle and high school. This process is carried out in three forms, namely, religious guidance, general knowledge, and learning skills. The process is developed through integration into teaching and learning activities in the classroom, habituation in school life, integration into extracurricular activities, and application of habituation to daily life at home or community. (3) The impact of character education and skills, namely, aspects of usefulness, aspects of changes that occur include physical, mental, cognitive, affective, and psychomotor changes, as well as aspects of the application of character education and skills in the future.
