Abstract

Kemampuan pembuktian matematis merupakan bagian dari kemampuan penalaran yang terdiri dari dua sub kemampuan, yaitu kemampuan memahami dan mengonstruksi bukti matematis. Kemampuan tersebut menjadi salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Selain itu, Self-efficacy juga menjadi hal penting dari afektif yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Fokus penelitian ini adalah memperoleh deskripsi tentang kemampuan dan self-efficacy siswa SMA dalam pembuktian matematis pada topik Trigonometri serta hubungan antara keduanya, kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pembuktian matematis, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan pembuktian matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran dengan desain sequential explanatory. Partisipannya adalah 30 siswa SMA kelas X MIPA pada salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi pembelajaran, tes kemampuan pembuktian matematis, skala self-efficacy, angket konfirmasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) sebagian besar siswa memliki kemampuan pembuktian matematis dan self-efficacy dalam pembuktian matematis pada level sedang; (ii) kemampuan memahami bukti memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan mengonstruksi bukti; (iii) kemampuan pembuktian memiliki korelasi positif dengan self-efficacy dalam pembuktian matematis; (iv) kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pembuktian matematis, yaitu kesalahan dalam menuliskan alasan dari suatu langkah pembuktian, tidak menentukan nilai kebenaran dari suatu pernyataan yang diberikan, kesalahan terkait konsep dalam trigonometri dan materi prasyarat, kesalahan dalam membuat dugaan, membuktikan dengan contoh, kesalahan melakukan proses perhitungan dan manipulasi aljabar, serta kesalahan dalam memahami maksud soal; dan (v) kemampuan pembuktian matematis siswa dipengaruhi oleh lima faktor utama, yaitu: pengalaman, kemampuan, waktu, sikap dan motivasi, serta guru.;--Mathematical proving ability is a part of reasoning ability consisted of two sub abilities, which are mathematical proof comprehension and mathematical proof construction ability. The ability must be improved in mathematical learning process. In addition, self-efficacy is also one of affective skills that should be acquired by students. Focus of this research was to describe the senior high school students ability and self efficacy in mathematical proving in the trigonometry topic and the correlation between them, errors in solving mathematical proving problems, and factors affecting students’ proving ability. The research used sequential explanatory design type of mixed method research. The participant were thirty students of 10th grade in one of senior high schools in Bandung. Data were collected through class observation, mathematical proving test, self-efficacy’s scale, questionnaire of confirmation, and interview. Overall, in the reseacrh were found five results, which were (i) most of the students had middle level of mathematical proving ability and self-efficacy; (ii) mathematical proof comprehension ability affected mathematical proof construction ability significantly; (iii) mathematical proving had positive correlation with self-efficacy; (iv) students’ errors in solving mathematical proving test were error in giving reason for each step of proof, not validating the truth of a given statement, error related to trigonometry and prerequisite concepts, error in conjecturing, proving using example, error in calculating and manipulating of algebra, and error in understanding the meaning of the questions; and (v) students’ mathematical proving ability were affected by five factors, i.e. experience, ability, time, attitude and motivation, and teacher.
