Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena ditemukannya learning obstacle dan fakta tentang rendahnya kemampuan membuat model matematika siswa kelas VII SMP. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penulis mencoba mengatasi rendahnya kemampuan membuat model matematika dengan merancang suatu lembar kerja siswa berbasis RME. Perancangan lembar kerja siswa ini menggunakan desain didactical engineering. Desain didactical engineering dianggap mampu membuat suatu lingkungan belajar yang dapat meminimalisasi kemunculan learning obstacle dan mengembangkan kemampuan membuat model matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah dua belas orang siswa kelas VII di salah satu sekolah di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen tes berupa soal uraian dan instrumen non-tes berupa wawancara dan angket. Hasil penelitian ini menginformasikan bahwa lembar kerja siswa berbasis RME dapat mengembangkan kemampuan siswa dalam membuat model matematika.;--This study is motivated by the discovery of learning obstacles and facts about the students’ low ability to create mathematical models in the seventh grade (VII) of junior high school. Based on the fact, the author tries to overcome the low ability to create mathematical models by designing a students’ worksheet based on RME. The design of this students’ worksheet using didactic engineering design. Didactical engineering design is considered capable to create a learning environment that can minimize the occurrence of learning obstacles and develop the ability to create mathematics model. The method used in this study is qualitative method. Participants in this study were twelve students in the seventh grade (VII) in one of the junior high school in Bandung Barat District. Data were collected through the test instrument in the form of essays and non-test instruments such as interviews and questionnaire. The results of this study inform that the student worksheets based on RME can develop students' ability to make mathematics model.
