Abstract
Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat diterapkan sejak dini kepada siswa, dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dimana memberikan suatu masalah-masalah kecil yang muncul dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Kemampuan berpikir kritis mampu mendorong siswa memecahkan masalah dengan cara kolaboratif atau bekerja sama dengan teman sebayanya. Tujuan dari pembelajaran ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kolaborasi siswa dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning pada materi banjir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design dengan menggunakan instrumen tes soal kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penyebaran angket kolaboratif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN di Kecamatan Cimalaka Kabupaten Sumedang dengan sampel siswa kelas V SDN Cilimbangan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas V SDN Citimun II sebagai kelas kontrol. Adapun simpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara signifikan, 2) Pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) lebih baik secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa daripada menggunakan pembelajaran ekspositori. 3) Pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kolaboratif siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran ekspositori. Kata Kunci : Model Problem Based Learning (PBL), Berpikir Kritis, Kolaboratif Critical thinking ability can be applied early on to students, using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model which provides a small problem that appears in the daily lives of students. The ability to think critically is able to encourage students to solve problems in a collaborative way or cooperate with their peers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on improving critical thinking skills and collaborating students by using the Problem Based Learning model in flood material. This study used a quasi- experimental method and nonequivalent control group design research design using test instruments about critical thinking skills and collaborative questionnaires. The population of this study were all fifth grade students of SDN in Cimalaka Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency with a sample of fifth grade students at Cilimbangan SDN as an experimental class and fifth grade students at Citimun II Elementary School as a control class. The conclusions obtained from this study are: 1) Science learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can significantly improve students' critical thinking skills, 2) Science learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is significantly better in improving students' critical thinking skills rather than using expository learning. 3) Learning Science using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve students' collaborative abilities compared to expository learning.
