Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN CERITA FIKSI ANAK DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS 3 SEKOLAH DASAR Rifani Sri Sunari 1501200 ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran di sekolah. Pembelajaran tersebut diberikan secara text book (terpaku pada buku) tanpa memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, karena guru menggunakan metode hapalan untuk mempertajam daya ingat siswa. Siswa hanya mampu menjawab pertanyaan sederhana yang sesuai dengan substansi materi yang dihapalnya. Hal tersebut berakibat siswa menjadi sulit menyelesaikan soal berbasis masalah yang diberikan. Siswa seakan memperoleh banyak tuntutan dalam rangka menyelesaikan soal-soal berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran cerita fiksi anak dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 3 sekolah dasar. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis yaitu dengan menerapkan pembelajaran melalui cerita fiksi anak. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen desain non equivalent control group design dengan sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas 3 sekolah dasar yang bertempat di salah satu sekolah dasar di kecamatan Coblong Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen pengumpul data berupa instrument tes dengan jumlah 14 soal yang disusun berdasarkan dengan aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran cerita fiksi anak memiliki kontribusi sebesar 80,8%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa cerita fiksi anak efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci: keterampilan berpikir kritis, cerita fiksi anak, efektivitas. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LEARNING CHILDREN'S FICTION STORIES IN DEVELOPING CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF GRADE III PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Rifani Sri Sunari 1501200 ABSTRACT This research is motivated by learning in schools. Learning is given in text book (focused on books) without providing an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking skills, because the teacher uses memorization methods to sharpen students' memory. Students are only able to answer simple questions that match the substance of the material they are memorizing. This results in students being difficult to solve problems based on the problems given. Students seemed to get a lot of demands in order to solve problem-based questions. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of learning fictional children's stories in developing critical thinking skills in grade 3 elementary school students. One of the efforts made to develop critical thinking skills is by applying learning through children's fiction. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method of non equivalent control group design with a sample of research, namely grade 3 students of elementary school located at one of the elementary schools in Coblong Bandung sub-district. This study uses a data collection instrument in the form of a test instrument with a total of 14 questions arranged based on aspects of critical thinking skills. The results of the research conducted showed that the application of children's fiction stories had a contribution of 80.8%. So it can be concluded that children's fiction stories are effective in developing students' critical thinking skills. Keywords: critical thinking skills, children's fiction stories, effectiveness.
