Abstract

Pentingnya kemampuan literasi kuantitatif pada saat ini merupakan hal nyata, yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa untuk bekal menghadapi tantangan hidup di abad 21. Pengintegrasian kemampuan literasi kuantitatif pada kegiatan pembelajaran akan mempengaruhi beban kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis total beban kognitif siswa SMP pada pembelajaran sistem peredaran darah dengan model guided inquiry untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi kuantitatif serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan literasi kuantitatif siswa pada pembelajaran tersebut. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa SMP kelas VIII di kota Bandung. Beban kognitif diukur berdasarkan Intrinsic Cognitive Load (ICL), Extraneous Cognitive Load (ECL) dan Germane Cognitive Load (GCL). ICL diukur menggunakan instrumen task complexity worksheet, ECL diukur menggunakan kuisioner subjective rating scale dan GCL diukur menggunakan soal literasi kuantitatif. Hasil pengukuran MMI termasuk katgeori baik, UM tergolong kategori rendah dan HB termasuk kategori baik sekali. Uji korelasi digunakan untuk menggambarkan hubungan antar ketiga komponen beban kognitif. Hasil uji korelasi ketiga komponen beban kognitif menunjukkan bahwa MMI, UM dan HB memiliki korelasi yang tidak signifikan (α>0,05) dan memiliki tingkat hubungan yang rendah, artinya selama kegiatan pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan kemampuan literasi kuantitatif ke dalam materi sistem peredaran darah dengan model guided inquiry siswa masih memiliki beban kognitif. Rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan literasi kuantitatif tergolong kategori sedang.;--The importance of current quantitative literacy skills is real, which students must have to face the challenges of life in the 21st century. The integration of quantitative literacy skills in learning activities will affect students' cognitive load. This research is a descriptive research that aims to analyze the total cognitive load of junior high school students on learning circulatory system using guided inquiry model to improve quantitative literacy capability and to know improvement quantitative literacy capability. The subject of this research is 32 students of junior high school at eight grade in Bandung. Cognitive loads are measured by Intrinsic Cognitive Load (ICL), Extraneous Cognitive Load (ECL) and Germane Cognitive Load (GCL). ICL was measured using a task complexity worksheet instrument, the ECL was measured using a subjective rating scale questionnaire and GCL was measured using quantitative literacy questions. The measurement of MMI belong to good category, UM belong to “low” category and HB belong to “very good” category. The correlation test is apply to describe the relationship between the three components of cognitive load. The results of the correlation test of the three components of cognitive load show that MMI, UM and HB have a non-significant correlation (α> 0.05) and have a low relationship level, which means during learning activities that integrate quantitative literacy capabilities into the circulatory system material by model guided inquiry students still have cognitive loads. The average of improvement quantitative literacy capability belongs to intermediet category.
