Abstract

Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran seperti halnya geografi setidaknya diukur melalui perubahan tingkah laku atau penampilan dengan serangkaian kegiatan seperti membaca, mengamati, mendengarkan, dan meniru atau akan lebih baik jika subjek belajar itu mengalami atau melakukannya sendiri. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena adanya permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang ditandai dengan rendahnya siswa dalam mencapai nilai ketuntasan minimal dan rendahnya hasil nilai siswa yang dilihat berdasarkan indikator kritis siswa. Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah pengaruh metode field study terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa di SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen, subjek penelitian ini adalah 69 peserta didik SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah metode field study dan kemampuan berfikir kritis. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan statistik non-parametrik berupa uji Kruskal-Wallis Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunan metode field study terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa yang jika dilihat termasuk kedalam kategori tinggi. Peneliti merekomendasikan penggunaan metode field study dapat menjadi pilihan dalam pengajaran geografi karena jika dilihat dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran ini mampu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci: Metode Field Study, Kemampuan Berfikir Kritis The success of the learning process as well as geography is at least measured through changes in behavior or appearance with a series of activities such as reading, observing, listening, and imitating or it would be better if the subject learned or did it himself. This research was carried out because of the low problem of students' critical thinking skills which was marked by the low level of students in achieving the minimum completeness value and the low student score results which were seen based on critical indicators of students. The main objective in this study was to find out how the influence of the field study method on the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in Pandeglang Public High School 6. The research method used was an experiment, the subject of this study were 69 students of Pandeglang State High School 6. The variables in this study are field study methods and critical thinking skills. The data analysis technique uses non-parametric statistics in the form of the Kruskal-Wallis Test. The results of the study show that there is an influence on the use of the field study method on students' critical thinking abilities which, if seen, fall into the high category. The researcher recommends that the use of the field study method can be an option in geography teaching because if it is seen from the results of the study, it shows that this learning method is able to provide a significant influence on improving students' critical thinking skills.
