Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Peranan Raden Toemenggoeng Endoeng Soeriapoetra Pada Masa Revolusi (1945-1949)”, Latar belakang peneliti mengkaji topik tersebut dikarenakan rasa penasaran dan ketertarikan peneliti untuk melakukan kajian mendalam mengenai sejarah lokal, khususnya pada masa revolusi berkaitan dengan bagaimana peranan tokoh sipil lokal pada masa awal kemerdekaan. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan karena penelitian mengenai tokoh sipil lokal pada masa revolusi relatif kurang jika dibandingkan penelitian mengenai tokoh militer, ataupun pertempuran-pertempuran pada masa revolusi fisik. Masalah utama yang diangkat dalam skripsi ini adalah “Bagaimana peran Raden Toemenggoeng Endoeng Soeriapoetra pada Masa Revolusi (1945-1949)?”. Masalah utama tersebut kemudian dibagi menjadi tiga pertanyaan penelitian, yaitu bagaimana latar belakang kehidupan R.T.E. Soeriapoetra, Bagaimana proses pengangkatan R.T.E. Soeriapoetra sebagai Bupati Bandung, dan bagaimana Kiprah R.T.E. Soeriapoetra pada masa revolusi. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode historis yang terdiri atas empat langkah yaitu pengumpulan sumber, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Untuk mempermudah analisis, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner melalui kajian di bidang ilmu pendidikan dan sosiologi yakni dengan menggunakan konsep revolusi Indonesia, nasionalisme, peranan dan kedudukan dan konsep kepemimpinan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat dijelaskan bahwa R.T.E. Soeriapoetra pada saat ia menjadi Bupati Bandung ia berada dalam situasi konflik, antara Indonesia dengan Belanda. Sehingga kepemimpinannya diwarnai dengan serangan secara terus menerus dari pihak Belanda. Oleh karena itu tidak banyak kebijakan yang ia buat, karena hanya berlangsung sebentar dan dalam situasi pemerintahan yang tidak stabil. Ia pun kemudian bekerja di Recomba Jawa Barat sebagai bupati tahun 1948. Tahun 1949 ia dialihkan ke Negara Pasundan namun ia tidak aktif. ;---The title of this paper is “The Role of Raden Toemenggoeng Endoeng Soeriapoetra in the Revolution Era (1945-1949)”. The researcher’s background to conducted study about this topic is because of curiousity and affinity to conducted a deeper study about local history, especially about the revolution era connected with how is the role of local civil figures in the early independent era. This research is also conducted because the study about local civil figure in the revolution era is rare if we compare it with the study of military figures or the battles in the physical revolution era. The main problem of this research is “How is the role of Raden Toemenggoeng Endoeng Soeriapoetra in the Revolution Era (1945-1949)?”. Then this main problem divided into three research questions, which of are how is the life background of R.T.E. Soeriapoetra, how is the election process of R.T.E. Soeriapoetra as Bandung Regent and how is the gait of R.T.E. Soeriapoetra in the revolution era. To answer this question, the researcher used historical method that consist four steps, which of are source collection, source critic, interpretation and historiography. To make analysis easier, the researcher used interdisciplinary approach through the study of educational and sociological sciences using Indonesian Revolution, Nationalism, Role and Position and leadership concepts. According to the result of this research, can be explained that R.T.E. Soeriapoetra At the time of his tenure as Bandung Regent he was in conflict situation, between the Indonesian and the Dutch Government, so his leadership coloured with never ending attack from the Dutch. Therefore not many policies that he made, because it only lasted briefly and in an unstable goverment situation. Then, he worked in Recomba West Java as Regent in 1948. In 1949, he moved to Pasundan State but he is not active.
