Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional, dan konsep diri terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa. Pengukuran kecerdasan emosional menggunakan pengukuran Goleman. Pengukuran variabel konsep diri (self concept) menggunakan pengukuran Hurlock. Pengukuran kemampuan berfikir kritis menggunakan pengukuran dari Ennis. Penelitian ini dengan responden 353 siswa kelas XII IPS SMA/MA Negeri Kabupaten Sukabumi. Teknik penetapan sampel penelitian proporsional random sampling. Uji analisis statistik diferensial dengan regresi berganda versi SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Sebagian besar siswa kelas XII IPS SMA/MA Negeri Kabupaten Sukabumi memiliki kemampuan berfikir kritis yang berkategori sedang , kecerdasan emosional berkategori sedang dan konsep diri (self concept) berkategori sedang, selanjutnya kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis, dan konsep diri (self concept) berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and self-concept toward students' critical thinking skill. The measurement of emotional intelligence was done by using Goleman measurements. The measurement of self-concept variables was done by using Hurlock measurements. The measurement of critical thinking skills was done by using Ennis measurements. This study was conducted by involving 353 respondents of tenth-grade students of social science major of public senior high schools/Madrasah Aliyah in Sukabumi Regency. In this study, proportional random sampling was used as the sampling technique and differential statistical analysis with multiple regression techniques was used to analyze the primary data. The results of the analysis showed that: Most of the tenth-grade students of social science major in the public senior high school/Madrasah Aliyah of Sukabumi Regency had a moderate level of critical thinking abilities, moderate level of emotional intelligence and also moderate self-concept level. Furthermore, it was also found that emotional intelligence has a positive effect on critical thinking skills, and self-concept also has a positive effect on critical thinking skills.
