Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena gejala stres akademik yang sering dialami oleh peserta didik di jenjang sekolah menengah atas dan pemanfaatan data hasil inventori kepribadian EPSS untuk memahami karakteristik kepribadian peseta didik yang rentan terhadap stres. Oleh sebab itu fokus kajian penelitian adalah mengungkap perbedaan kecenderungan kepribadian peserta didik berdasarkan tingkat gejala stres akademik.Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Garut dan SMA Negeri 6 Garut tahun ajaran 2011/20112.Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen non-test berupa angket dan inventori kepribadian EPPS. Data dianalisis dengan statistika parametrik melalui analisis variansi satu arah (One Way ANOVA) yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey pada post hoc test. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 1) gambaran umum tingkat gejala stres akademik peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Garut dan SMA Negeri 6 Garut tahun ajaran 2011/20112 dan 2) Perbedaan kecenderungan kepribadian peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Garut dan SMA Negeri 6 Garut tahun ajaran 2011/20112 berdasarkan tingkat gejala stres akademik. Adapun rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini diberikan kepada 1). Guru bimbingan dan konseling; dan 2). Peneliti selanjutnya. Kata Kunci: Kepribadian, Stres Akademik, EPPS The aim of this research was to reveal differences in personality tendencies of students based on their level of academic stress symptoms. The approach which used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The sample was 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Garut and SMAN 6 Garut academic year 2011/2012. Data collection which used was non-test instruments such as questionnaires and personality inventory EPPS. Data was analyzed with parametric statistics through one-way analysis of variance (one way ANOVA) followed by Tukey test at Post Hoc Test. This research resulted such as 1) General description of academic stress symptoms’s level of 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Garut and SMAN 6 Garut academic year 2011/2012 and 2) Differences personality tendencies of 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Garut and SMAN 6 Garut academic year 2011 / 2012 based on the level of academic stress symptoms. As for the recommendation that be given to the results of this research such as for 1) guidance and counseling teachers, and 2) further Researcher.
